Progress!
1st unit: floors completed, sheeted and walls are up; 2nd unit: floor is built and ready for sheeting; 3rd unit: foundation is prepped for us to build the floor tomorrow!

Months of listening to homeowners, crunching numbers and engaging in robust discussions with insurance adjusters and lenders has led to this: the first three rebuilds have started and three families are that much closer to living comfortably in their "homes" once again amongst neighbours they miss dearly.

Foundations are poured, the floor packages and roof packages are on site. All exterior and interior walls have been pre-fabricated on site and are ready to go up immediately after heating and hoarding! We're so excited to be moving ahead and upward!

If you want to discuss a build - either the exact home you had or something entirely different - we'd be pleased to sit-down and discuss the possibilities with you. If you need assistance negotiating with your insurance adjuster, we can certainly help with that as well. Give us a call.

Marco Builders is a local construction company working within the RMWB for over ten years. We are currently hiring skilled labourers and carpenters for the build of residential homes in our Region.

NEWLY ANNOUNCED financial assistance available to small businesses affected by the 2016 Wildfires via the Red Cross and the RMWB. Visit https://ymmsmallbizrecovery.ca/ to access online application forms. Note the deadline for submitting applications is December 16th.

The Canadian Red Cross (CRC) and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) are providing financial assistance to small businesses affected by the 2016 Alberta Wildfires. Each program is described below.

Over $40 Million in financial support is being made available to small and medium-sized businesses (employing less than 50 people) in the RMWB through a partnership between all three levels of Government, the Red Cross, and the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce. Through a case management system, the funds will be made available to approximately 4000 of those businesses that were operating within our Region at the time of the evacuation and will be reopening business within the RMWB by the end of this year. Over the next month or so the Red Cross will be implementing an application system for business owners to submit their needs for consideration. More information on how to access this funding will be made available online at www.redcross.ca/AlbertaFiresBusiness. On behalf of small businesses in our Region, we thank the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce for making this grant request and for the Municipal, Provincial and Federal governments, together with the Red Cross, for listening and responding favourably. Our Region’s overall recovery is intricately correlated to the success of our local business community! Thank you!
