The pics with metallic trims may look ok from afar but looking close up, if you were actually having a shower; you’d see how awful the caulking in and around this niche were. I’ve covered over this gross work with pvc trims and resealed everything to be sure no leaks occur. A small slant outward on the lower shelf to shed water with a nice little bullnose ledge.

This little deck extension is actually a divider to allow pets an easy and direct access route to their outdoor potty area while maintaining your own clean outdoor space. A closed gate atop the deck stairs means all you have to do is open the door to let them out.

70% of this garage had rotted out at the baseplate/plywood/and partial stud. Jacked up along the exterior and replaced with new baseplate and laminated new studs, fresh barrier and new plywood. After flashing and waterproofing outside, it’s almost ready for parging.

If you have an older home from the 60s here in Edmonton, be sure to check that the flapper is not rusted shut from not being exercised over the decades. This is where the water drains into the city storm system from outside and can dramatically help prevent potential ground water pe*******on through your foundation.
