No leaks found doesn’t always mean no leaks exist.

A client recently contacted us after a previous contractor inspected their geomembrane and reported no leaks. They wanted a second look.

Our team performed spark testing; an Electrical Leak Location (ELL) method used to detect breaches in exposed geomembranes.

The result? 15 leaks identified.

Our team located each defect and completed the necessary repairs, helping restore the integrity of the liner system.

This project is a great reminder that the right testing method, equipment and experience matter. Even small defects can compromise containment performance if they go undetected.

Winter Is Coming: Book Your Liner Install Today

The photos below are from a winter install. We can work in freezing conditions, but production drops and costs rise. Why winter costs more:

♦ Access/Safety: Smooth geomembrane is nearly unwalkable — traction mats become the only path.
♦ Seaming: Cold temperatures narrow welding windows, leading to more resets and slower linear meters.
♦ Subgrade: Frozen or wet bases require thawing, drying or sand blinding.
♦ Weather Holds/QC: Snow, wind and condensation add cleaning time, testing time, and delays.

If you must install in winter:

➟ Specify textured HDPE/LLDPE (per GRI-GM13/GM17) for traction and safety.
➟ Plan for weather breaks, preheat and snow/ice management.
➟ Allow for reduced production rates in your schedule.
