Women's Canadian Club of Montreal, 1800 ch du Bord-du-Lac Lakeshore, Dorval, QC (2026)

Founded in 1907 by Lady Drummond and Mrs Elsie Reford, the goal was to encourage the preservation of Canadian heritage and history, and to introduce the early 20th century woman to a knowledge and understanding of matters of public concern in order to strengthen Canadian unity and identity. Among our many projects and contributions of the Women's Canadian Club of Montreal was the construction of a cenotaph in Dominion Square in memory of the fallen of World War I. The WCCM initiated and supervised the project and asked the City to erect the monument where it is still located today. As well as hosting a series of eight lectures, special excursions to a wide variety of institutions and historic sites are arranged each season, and special guest speakers are invited to our annual Christmas and Spring Luncheons. The Women's Canadian Club of Montreal, the first of several Women's Canadian Clubs across Canada, continues to further the goals of Lady Drummond and Mrs Elsie Reford.

The Women’s Canadian Club of Montreal welcomes you to our first lecture of the 2026-2027 season on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 in Victoria Hall

We shall be meeting and welcoming Dr. Cecile Berne, Researcher at the University of Montreal. So much to look forward to! I can hardly wait.

You have seen the announcement. I am sure that you are ready to learn all about the stickiness of Bacteria. I know that I am. Do not miss this amazing start to the fabulous new season.

Sandwiches will be available from 11:30 am and the lecture starts at 12:30 pm. Be sure to update your membership information. You need to keep in the loop of this amazing season of lectures and social time with the other wonderful members of the Women’s Canadian Club of Montreal. Don’t miss out due to a changed email address.

You can renew your membership for $75.00 by sending an e-transfer to [email protected] or mail a cheque to the Women’s Canadian Club of Montreal at PO Box 342, Victoria Station, Westmount, QC, H3Z 2V8. Of course, you can always stop at the door on your way into the hall and renew or join for the first time in person. Make sure that your email address is up to date. Join in the excitement and be sure to bring a friend or two at $15.00 for the lecture or better still, encourage them to join with you. Please remember after September 30th the membership dues will increase to $80.00.

We can hardly wait to welcome everyone back. Dr. Berne is excited to share the scope of her work with you. Are you ready?

Please wear your WCCM nametag proudly if you have one. Don’t forget that sandwiches will be available for purchase starting at 11:30 am and if you prefer to bring your own, please feel free to do so. Rumour has it that there will be homemade cookies available to enjoy with our coffee. Yummm!

Great News! It’s True and Very Exciting!

WCCM End of an Era

Reflecting on Our Legacy and Cherished Community Bonds

As we enter the final months of the Women’s Canadian Club of Montreal, we look back with deep appreciation for all that the club has accomplished and the countless lives it has touched.

Founded in 1907 by Lady Julia Drummond and Mrs. Elise Reford, along with the many leaders who followed in their footsteps, the club has consistently served as a beacon of knowledge, social interaction, support and generosity within our community.

Over the decades, the club has hosted a remarkable array of speakers who have educated and enriched our lives. Special Events and Holiday Luncheons have been at the heart of our club, creating cherished traditions and unforgettable moments. These occasions have brought joy to many and have marked important chapters in our shared history.

Throughout the years, members have given back to the community by supporting youth through education programs such as Encounters with Canada and awarding scholarships to students, helping them pursue their dreams. The club has also donated funds to numerous local charities, making a lasting difference in the lives of neighbours in need.

While the Club was a destination, the members were its heart. What truly sets us apart is the spirit of camaraderie and kindness fostered within our walls. The friendships, laughter, and shared memories have woven a tapestry that will endure long after our doors close. For many, the club has been a place to connect, grow, and support one another.

As we reflect on our rich legacy, we extend sincere gratitude to every member and supporter who helped shape the club into what it is today. No matter what the future holds, the bonds formed here will remain strong. We hope that the connections and memories continue to flourish within our community for years to come.
