Before a new liner is installed, every surface needs to be properly secured and smoothed out.

In this project, we taped all wall seams, radius corners, returns, and skimmer gaskets to ensure everything stayed tight and properly aligned. Some areas had started separating from the wall over time, so we reinforced and secured them before moving forward.

We also repaired a major crack in front of the step area by patching and smoothing the surface back out completely.

These details may never be seen once the liner is installed — but they make a huge difference in the final appearance, fit, and longevity of the pool.

Smooth prep = smooth finish.

Your pool system is designed to make maintenance simple once you understand the different settings.

The pump has multiple modes depending on what you’re doing:
• Auto mode for everyday circulation
• Clean mode for vacuuming and filter checks
• Eco mode to save energy overnight
• Chemical mode to boost circulation after adding products

It’s all about balancing performance, water quality, and energy efficiency throughout the season.

Even small settings adjustments can make a big difference in how efficiently your pool runs.

A family pool should feel comfortable, practical, and easy to enjoy every day.

This 16' x 32' rectangular inground pool project in Nepean was designed with simplicity, durability, and family use in mind. The clean rectangular layout maximizes swim space, while subtle radius corners soften the overall look of the backyard.

The 10-foot-wide entry step provides safe and comfortable access into the pool while also creating a shallow lounging area perfect for kids and relaxing afternoons.

Features like the broom-finished concrete surround, saltwater system, automatic cleaner, and LED lighting help keep the pool low-maintenance while making the space functional from day into evening.

Combined with the wooden privacy fence and future-ready water feature plumbing, this backyard was built to grow with the homeowners over time.

It’s not just about installing a pool—it’s about creating a space your family can enjoy season after season.

What Happens Before a New Pool Liner Goes In?

Most people only see the finished liner — but the preparation beforehand is what really matters.

Before installation, the pool needs to be completely cleaned and prepped properly:
• Old water gets pumped out
• Debris and rocks are removed
• Walls are sanded smooth
• The entire surface is pressure washed and vacuumed

Every step helps create a cleaner, smoother finish for the new liner installation.

Good prep work is what leads to a great final result.

The salt system is what actually produces chlorine for your pool by converting saltwater into a sanitizing gas through the cell unit.

You can easily control chlorine levels by adjusting the output percentage on the system. If chlorine is reading too high, lowering the percentage reduces production. If it’s too low, increasing it helps bring levels back up.

For example, if the system was running at 20% and chlorine tested high, dropping it to 15% helps balance things out. It’s best to test daily during the first week to fine-tune the settings and stabilize the water.

Most systems also include a “boost” function, which temporarily runs at 100% for 24 hours before returning to your normal setting—useful after heavy use or shocking conditions.

The display also tracks salt levels in the water, helping ensure everything stays within the proper range for efficient chlorine production.

This pool needed more than just a new liner.

Behind the scenes, we found cracks, rust, damaged surfaces, separated seams, and years of wear that had to be repaired before the transformation could even begin.

Over the next series, we’ll show you everything that goes into restoring a pool properly — from the prep work underneath to the final water-filled reveal.

The transformation starts now.

After the heater, the water flows into the final stage of your system—the Nature² mineral cartridge.

This component helps support water clarity by creating an environment that makes it harder for algae to grow and reduces the demand on your chlorine system.

One of its benefits is that it can help maintain clearer water even if your salt system is temporarily off, adding an extra layer of protection for your pool.

Because of this support, chlorine levels can often be maintained at lower ranges while still keeping the water clean and balanced.

For best performance, the cartridge should be replaced once a year as part of regular maintenance.
