Decarbonization is the future – and that's why BOOM is excited to discover how our skills honed in oil and gas construction can be used to help build renewable energy networks, too.

We've already had success delivering reliable work in important emerging fields like:

🔵 Hydrogen fuel
🔵 Solar energy
🔵 Carbon Capture Utilization and Sequestration (CCUS)

And we're always looking for future opportunities, too. Happy Earth Day! 🌎

On Global Recycling Day, here's a double rainbow we captured at our worksite to bless everyone's timeline.

And here's just a few of the ways we're improving our ecological performance on brownfield and demolition projects:

👉 Thorough material handling protocols ensuring safe extraction

👉 Performing NORM (naturally occurring radioactive materials) tests on extracted materials to ensure there's no contamination before reuse

👉 Deconstructing materials into component parts for reuse (e.g., separating concrete from internal rebar and reprocessing each)

The earlier you bring BOOM onto a project, the earlier we can start applying our expertise – improving the return on your investment.

Make no mistake, we’re ready and willing to step in and assist at any stage of a project. But letting us do the groundwork with services like our 3D scanning capabilities or our pre-constructability reviews compounds our effectiveness and our efficiency. This reaps long-term rewards at almost every level.

Currently, we're working with partners planning on projects as far away as 2032. And we can do the same for you.

In our World at BOOM,

Decommissioning is just as important as new construction.

It can be the first critical step in any brownfield expansion project or a significant step towards the eventual reclamation of the site.

At Dryden Creek, our crews are working on the end-of-life decommissioning and reclamation of a facility that's being turned back to its original state.

Everything we're taking down is being assessed for potential recycling or reuse – in line with our values: https://brnw.ch/21wHYtn

It's International Women's Day.

By the end of 2023, over 208,000 women worked in the Canadian construction sector.

That's an increase of 8.2% from 2022.

But that’s still nearly 6x fewer than men working in the industry.
We want to see these numbers continue to shift.

It takes a special breed to head out into the Canadian winter to get the job done.

But that's who builders are: driven, determined, and dependable. They know that millions of Canadian families are depending on them to keep them warm.

Thank you to everyone on the BOOM team and everyone else in the energy industry for your hard work, even in the toughest conditions. We're proud to go to work side by side with you.

TC Energy challenged us with a one-of-a-kind project: fabricate the cauldron that holds the Flame of Hope to mark the start of the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Calgary 2024.

Together with TC Energy and Tsuut'ina Nation designer, Josh Littlelight, we’ve brought the unique design to life.

Just like the Games themselves, the cauldron is a symbol of unity and togetherness, empowering people to reach new heights and achieve their dreams. The cauldron design features 8 winter sporting events played at the event, and 7 animals representing Grandfather Teachings topped by a soaring eagle. The finished cauldron weighs in at 267kg and is made of 85% of reclaimed materials.

We're proud to see the cauldron host the flame successfully – but the real stars of the show are the athletes at the Games themselves. Join us in cheering them on in the comments!
