Licorice was born June 10, 2026 as a big singleton. He is a jet black Nigerian Dwarf buckling with blue eyes and a soft coat. Such a handsome fellow.

His mom, Farquad, is a Nigerian Dwarf and takes good care of him.

His dad, Blaze, is a handsome Nigerian Dwarf and belongs to a friend.

Licorice is looking for his own herd of lovely ladies. He would make a great stud.

Farm life with animals is amazing. I’m loving my life and don’t regret this choice! It’s not about the money as farming really doesn’t make you much. It’s about knowing where our food comes from, what’s been put into it, and the joy of God’s creation is sustaining us through this life!

The cuteness is a bonus for sure! But you’ll have to wait a bit for that. Hehehe…. A little teaser….

Been a busy weekend and it’s not time yet.

Storms came through both Friday night and Saturday night. No damage which is good. Pea sized hail for a short time Friday night.

Butcher day today as some of the rabbits are ready to go. 7 done now. I’ll check the rabbit hole but there’s probably another 4 or 5 there.

Have some chickens and ducks to do as well but that may have to wait for another day.

Chris has been cleaning out the duck and chicken winter pens. Moved the animals to new digs so it can get done. Lots of work. Goat kidding pen needs to be done as well.

Farm life is a sea of never ending projects. We love it. Will probably crash hard tonight after a full days work! But first, maybe a dip in the pool.

Mr Tom Turkey decided a breakout was needed so between the dogs, Chris, and I we managed to get him safely back with his girls! lol. Silly Tom.

Skimpas, our last ND doe to labour, waiting until our son got home to have her babies. Kaleb named her so I guess she wanted him here. Lol.

Twin girls. Beautiful white and black babies. Pics will come later. Momma is tired and so am I.

In the wee hours of this morning, we lost Star. She was third born in the quad. Not exactly sure what happened but got super weak and I just could not get her back.

Star was a sweetie. She cuddled close as she was not feeling good. Needed to be next to my heart so that is where she stayed until her passing.

Just as Chris and I were planning to go out for supper for our 31st Anniversary, Farquad decided it was time for her to give birth! So last night, she had a big boy! One baby for her. Needed a little assistance but mom and babe are doing well!
