In August, I had one of the scariest workday of my life (and I’ve worked rigs). I fell 15 feet from scaffolding, landed on my feet, and my femur shattered the top of my tibia. Apparently, I was a cat in a past life.
The ambulance showed up, and given my condition, and living and working in rural Manitoba, they called the STARS Air Ambulance, and I was airlifted from Clear Lake straight to Winnipeg. What would’ve been an uncomfortable three-hour drive turned into a 60-minute flight. I was stable, but for someone in worse shape, that time could be the difference between life and death.
🚁 STARS provides life-saving emergency transport across Western Canada bringing hospital-level care to people when every second counts. They’re funded largely by donations, and they save lives every single day.
So as we move from Black Friday shopping to Giving Tuesday, consider this: skip the Starbucks for a day and donate to STARS instead. Every dollar helps keep that red helicopter in the sky for the next person who needs it.
