We refurbish decks! This deck had a lot of rot as well as a very heavy steel framed gazebo to contend with. Through a combination or sanding and replacement we were able to resurrect the substructure and decking where required. The gazebo was left in place and jacked up one side at a time to deal with rot and create new anchor locations where the feet could be lag bolted. The before scenario was hit and miss with only one or two lag bolts hitting joists under those feet. The staircase was completely rebult, now proped up and sitting on a 1" thick rubber stable matt with recessess that allow for water drainage. The staicase was also a high traffic area so it was topped using trek composite decking to keep future wear and maintance to a minimum. Lastly the entire surface was finished in an oil based walnut stain. Check it out!
