Just because winter has set in doesnt mean the work stops! Large earthmoving projects are often made prohibitively expensive during the winter due to frost and snowfall complications. However, projects such as site clearing, small scale earthmoving like roadway approaches, and certain types of utility install can be completed through the winter. It’s been dig, duck and cover (pipes, that’s). One of our underground crews nicely parked for the weekend, but the groundwork’s just getting started. This team is getting after a municipal water and force sewer connection in the hamlet. The dirt gets moving again on Monday!

Quick set of terraces for a solar array. Put our new mulcher to use clearing roughly 1 acre of dense poplar trees before engaging in a large cut/fill embankment as per a grading plan and design completed in-house. Projects like these always come with their challenges, especially when steep slopes and deep fills are involved. Adequate compaction with the correct equipment is paramount to preventing settlement or instability in the finished product. Thankfully, for over 30 years, BCX has delivered the goods on many steep projects in the Bragg Creek area. If you are interested in going green or have another earthmoving project in mind. The guys are making great progress on this site rehabilitation just outside downtown. The next steps are erosion control logs on the slopes, removal of a small section of concrete wall that the demolition contractor missed that got added as an addendum, final trim and seed. Comment some ideas on how this beautiful space could be utilized!
