In honour of Mother’s Day, I want to introduce you to my mom, Suzie. My sauna journey started with her almost 30 years ago. At the lake, she’s always been the fire starter and sauna stoker. In my life, she’s played a similar role, lighting a fire in me while also being my biggest cheerleader.

Under the stairs, right beside a mechanical room, with only 58 inches of depth to work with. Not an obvious place for a sauna, but a good example of what can be done with the right design.

We were still able to fit two levels of benches, position the heater safely, and make the space comfortable, functional and beautiful.

Tight or unusual areas don’t have to be limiting. They just need a thoughtful layout.
