Hedging in autumn is a great way to get your property looking great for the next 8 months but it also has some great benifits for the trees.
Message today for a quote.

1. Prepares the Hedge for Winter
A tidy, squared hedge is less likely to suffer wind damage or snow accumulation in winter.
Removing uneven or overhanging branches reduces the chance of branches snapping under weight or during storms.

2. Maintains Shape and Health
Trimming in autumn helps retain a clean shape going into the dormant season.
Encourages healthy, dense growth in spring by removing weak or dead wood before dormancy.

3. Reduces Pest and Disease Risks
Removing dead or diseased branches reduces overwintering sites for pests and fungal infections.

4. Less Disturbance to Wildlife
Autumn (especially after August) is past the nesting season, so you're less likely to disturb birds or other wildlife.

5. Slower Regrowth
Cooler temperatures and shorter days mean less vigorous regrowth, so your hedge stays tidy longer through winter.

6. Improved Light and Air Flow
Tidying hedges allows more light to reach nearby plants and improves air circulation, reducing dampness and mold issues.

With all of moisture this year some of those trees are getting out of hand, and some of just been neglected to the point they are a hazard.

Here are some recent before and afters between the rain cycles.

Please reach out to me if you want to get some of those trees taken care of before the next wind storm.

100 year old farms have 100 year old trees….. and in Alberta we have 100mph winds.

I also have the best clients. I have been here for the past few summers and this year we cleaned up all the wind damaged trees, learners and potential future hazards.

This cluster of birch have not had leaves in 5 years and were rotten and tangled. Now after assessing them, the stumps were solid enough to fall the three trees between the powerlines and home but they will be too rotten to salvage for fire wood.

Please fall your trees when they are still healthy and safe enough to harvest.

Needed to knock off the bottom 20 feet of branches so I could get a good look of what this tree wanted to do. It fell great where it needed to end was good to cut while it still had some life and structure.
