🚨How To Check Your Sump Pump 🚨
Warmer weather is (finally!) on the way 🌤️ and that means all this snow is about to melt.
While it feels great outside, it can put a LOT of pressure on your sump pump.
Your sump pump is your basement’s first line of defense against flooding. If it’s not working properly, you could be dealing with:
• Basement flooding
• Water damage to flooring and drywall
• Mold and mildew growth
• Costly repairs and insurance headaches
The good news? You can do a quick test yourself!
Here’s how to check your sump pump:
1️⃣ Make sure it’s plugged in and the outlet has power.
2️⃣ Slowly pour a bucket of water into the sump pit.
3️⃣ The float should rise and trigger the pump.
4️⃣ The pump should turn on, remove the water, and shut off once the water level drops.
If it doesn’t turn on, sounds unusual, runs constantly, or struggles to drain the water…it’s time to have it looked at. 🛠️
