Call me if you ever have an unusual smell in your mechanical room
A carbon monoxide alarm go off..
Or if you just had someone else do gas work for ya...
I see that there is a 4 foot flex connector used to connect the water heater gas. And there is also no shutoff on its line.
Upon removal I found that the line was only threaded in by one or two threads.
This customer had a super loud alarm go off in her mechanical room
She figured it may have been because of the furnace blowing dust from the initial seasonal fire up, but it actually picked up on the gas leak in the small laundry / mechanical room.
I sorted that and then discussed the water tank gas line with her.
Boy am I glad I addressed that too!
