🔥 Traditional Cob & Clay Wood-Fired Oven
This traditional cob-and-mud wood-fired oven is designed for efficient heat retention, uniform cooking, and natural thermal circulation. Its dome-shaped construction helps distribute heat evenly while the refractory brick floor withstands high temperatures.
Key features:
🧱 Refractory brick floor for high-temperature resistance.
🔥 Wood-fired heating provides steady, natural heat.
🌬️ Hot-air convection circulates heat throughout the dome.
💨 Upper smoke outlet helps remove smoke and combustion gases.
🏺 Cob-and-mud dome made from clay-rich soil, sand, straw, and water.
🏜️ Sand insulation layer improves thermal retention.
🍞 Suitable for bread, pizza, roasting, and pastries.
🌱 Uses natural, economical, and locally available materials.
Recommended dimensions shown: approximately 100 cm overall width × 120 cm height, with an 80 cm cooking opening and about 45 cm internal dome height.
⚠️ Important: Allow the cob structure to dry gradually before firing, and start with small fires while increasing the temperature progressively. Actual dimensions, materials, ventilation, and refractory construction should be adapted to local conditions and checked by a qualified builder/engineer before construction.
