In this project, one geometric solid was selected and explored through the process of fragmentation. By studying the architectural philosophy and formal language of a chosen architect, the solid was analyzed, abstracted, and reconfigured to reflect that architectural style.

This project helped us to develop an understanding of form transformation, abstraction, architectural expression, and the relationship between geometry and design concepts.

𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦: Poster Color on Swedish Paper.
𝐒𝐢𝐳𝐞:14"x 14"

This was our very first project working with colors and it opened the door to understanding the foundations of color theory. Through creating the color wheel, we learned how hues, tones, and contrasts interact and how color can guide emotion, balance a composition, and strengthen a design.

𝐒𝐢𝐳𝐞: 12" × 20"

For this project, we were asked to study a specific architect—exploring their biography, architectural language, patterns, and signature design elements. Using those insights, we created a bas-relief of the architect’s name, shaped and styled to reflect their unique architectural expression.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲: Expressing Tessellation in Nature.
𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺: Non-Biodegradable Waste Material.
𝗦𝗶𝘇𝗲: 12" × 12"

In this project, we explored the concept of tessellation- patterns found in nature and translated them into a creative composition using non-biodegradable waste materials such as plastic and synthetic fabric etc.

Through this process, we learned to observe and analyze natural patterns, understand their geometric harmony, while also understanding the importance of reusing waste to create meaningful aesthetic expressions.

In this project, we created self-portraits using only printed papers cutouts like newspapers and magazine cutouts. Each of us chose a photo of ourselves that showed some kind of expression. The challenge was to rebuild that photo with paper pieces.

The purpose was to learn how ordinary printed media can be turned into art, while also exploring creativity, identity, and self-expression through collage

𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺: Graphite pencil on A4 size cartridge paper.
𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿: S. M. Naeem Hossain Mithun.

This project explores the transition from detailed observation to minimal representation. By studying everyday objects, we learned to perceive forms in both intricated detail and simplified abstraction. The exercise encouraged creative interpretation while strengthening the ability to balance realism and minimalism.

𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦: Graphite pencil on cartridge paper.
𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 1 week.

The purpose of this project is to train the eye to look beyond outlines—focusing on tone, rhythm, and harmony—proving that even the smallest mark can shape an entire expression.

For this project, we explored how nature can be expressed through dots. Dot composition breaks a natural object into its simplest form while still conveying texture, depth, and emotion. Each becomes a building block, showing how small details unite into a complete picture.

𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 : 3 Days.

Our very first project in Design Studio I marks the beginning of an exciting journey. Guided to explore both campus and city, each student selected their own frame where natural and artificial elements coexist. These sketches reflect the harmony between built structures and nature, capturing the essence of our new environment and the spirit of our creative beginnings.
