We, 𝑫𝒆.𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔 recently designed a 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 situated in Savar, Dhaka. This duplex residence is conceived as a composition of planes, where simple white plastered volumes stand in quiet contrast to the lush surrounding green. The architecture establishes a clear hierarchy through restraint, allowing light, shadow, landscape, and void to become the primary makers of space. Rather than treating nature as an exterior backdrop, the design invites greenery into the house through a series of courtyards, blurring the boundary between built form and living landscape. The front green court acts as a welcoming threshold, opening the house to arrival and extending hospitality through its soft, generous edge. Projecting planes further reinforces this sense of invitation, guiding visitors inward. Within the house, multiple courtyards shape a layered domestic experience. The northern dry court is imagined as a more intimate realm, where diffused light and enclosure create a sense of privacy and calm. In contrast, the southern court encourages a softer, greener atmosphere through smaller plants and filtered openness. These two inner courts are separated, yet also connected, by the volumetric public zone of the house. This central living mass serves as both a divider and a mediator, ensuring the continuous flow of light and air throughout the residence. The project, therefore, is not only an arrangement of rooms but a careful orchestration of planes, courts, climate, and everyday life.

Wrapping this year with a design proposal for avery small temple in a distant village. Set in a distant village, this temple is shaped by its place—built entirely in brick, drawn from local availability and local craft.

The architecture is guided by Classical geometric principles, where form is governed by proportion and order. The spatial composition follows the Golden Ratio (φ), echoing the timeless harmony seen in the Doric architecture.

Natural light becomes the primary architectural element. Carefully oriented openings and a brick screen (jali) filter harsh sunlight, reducing heat gain while allowing soft, diffused daylight to enter the sacred space. Light is not forced inside—it is invited, measured, and controlled.

Here, brick acts as both structure and climate moderator, geometry creates calm, and light defines spirituality.

“A Home of Belonging”
We were entrusted with the chance to design a home on a modest budget, but we held onto the belief that dreams are never measured by cost. Even in simplicity, there is room for beauty, meaning, and pride. Our vision was to preserve the soul of tradition while gently weaving in a modern touch—creating a space that feels both timeless and deeply personal.

To carry this spirit, we introduced subtle patterns in the cabinets and walls, inspired by the poetry of Bengali ornamentation. These details gave the home a sense of identity, a whisper of heritage, and the feeling of belonging to something greater than oneself. Against a calm white canvas, warm wooden tones were layered, wrapping the home in an atmosphere that is bright, grounded, and welcoming.

At the foyer, a mythological painting greets every visitor—not just as art, but as a storyteller, carrying age-old tales into everyday life. It also offers a quiet pause, a meditative corner between the bedrooms, where one can retreat into thought or story.

Every room was crafted hand in hand with the client, through shared imaginations. This co-creation made the spaces more than design—it made them mirrors of the people who would live there. Nothing here was meant to be grand or extravagant. Instead, it was meant to be warm, meaningful, and alive with memory.

The result is a home that breathes comfort and simplicity, yet stands rooted in culture—a home where tradition finds harmony with modern comfort. At De.tales Works, we believe good design is not about luxury; it is about identity, belonging, and the simple joys of life lived meaningfully.

𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮!

At 𝑫𝒆.𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔, we recently designed a distinctive green wall for the MTB (Mutual Trust Bank) tower at Moghbazar, Dhaka.

The wall, measuring 16 feet high and 20 feet wide, was envisioned not just as a vertical garden but as a bold living statement. Taking inspiration from the oblique character of the MTB logo, we introduced diagonal metal plates that create dynamic pattern and add character to the design. The plants were carefully juxtaposed in harmony with these lines, giving the wall a strong rhythm and identity.

Our plant palette includes Monstera deliciosa (Green and Yellow), Nephrolepis exaltata (Fern), and Crinum asiaticum (Stink Lily). At the center, on a floating metal plate, rests the MTB logo, completing the composition.

This green wall harnesses a sense of calmness to the entryway while offering the building a refreshing and positive energy.

The corridor opens up to bright, airy interiors where soft white backdrops amplify natural light.
