Ara Manor | A Retreat Shaped by Landscape, Light, and Rhythm
Located in Narsingdi, Bangladesh, Ara Manor is a three-storied vacation house designed by Reincarnation - conceived as a place to slow down and reconnect with the natural rhythms of its surrounding green land.
Set across 166,549 sq. ft., the masterplan unfolds as a small ecosystem rather than a single building. It includes a main residence, service building, and annex, supported by a pool facility, bamboo structures, a multi-game court, and a carefully composed landscape of vegetable, fruit, and flower gardens.
At the heart of the design lies a triple-height central courtyard—a void within a 9-grid cube—creating a micro-climate through airflow, skylight, and spatial openness. All primary functions are organized around this courtyard, ensuring constant visual and sensory connection with nature at every level.
Drawing subtle inspiration from Mughal landscape principles, the plan incorporates strong axes and diagonal geometries, visible both in the masterplan and architectural articulation. These lines bring order, movement, and perspective—guiding the experience through space.
To merge seamlessly with its context, the project introduces layered green roofs, open-to-sky terraces, and landscaped levels, allowing architecture and greenery to overlap rather than compete. From the first floor, a stair landing leads directly to the poolside landscape—forming a semi-shaded social space that blurs indoor and outdoor living.
Water sheets along the north and south façades reflect the building, softening its mass and creating a subtle floating effect—enhancing both privacy and scenic views through layered screens.
Ara Manor is not designed as an escape from nature, but as a place to live within it—quietly, intentionally, and in rhythm.
