⚡ QLD EV owners: home charging just got faster! ⚡

As of 1 October, Energex has scrapped the 20A limit on single-phase home EV chargers. You can now have a full 32A charger installed with no extra network device and no controlled tariff required.

What that means:
✅ Up to 7.4kW charging (vs 4.6kW before), about 60% faster
✅ Simpler, cleaner installs
✅ Charge whenever suits you, including off your own solar

🔌 Already have a charger limited to 20A? It may be able to be upgraded. We'll check your charger, cabling and switchboard to make sure it's safe.

From 1 January 2027, all Queensland rental properties must have interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms installed throughout the home. For owner-occupiers who’ve sold or renovated since 2022, this already applies to you.

What’s required:
✅ Photoelectric alarms only
✅ Interconnected — when one sounds, they all sound
✅ In every bedroom, connecting hallway, and on every level
✅ Hard-wired or 10-year lithium battery
