𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: Wollert Community Farm Stage 2 - Community Hub

𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Wollert – Wurundjeri Country

𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁: Yarra Valley Water and Whittlesea Community Connections

The first sod has been turned at a new community hub for the Wollert Community Farm that will deliver a dedicated space for education, training, volunteering and community programs once completed, in March 2027. 🌱

We are excited to get started on our first project for new client Yarra Valley Water and partner Whittlesea Community Connections.

The project is transforming land around Yarra Valley Water's Aurora Recycled Water Treatment Plant into a space for people to connect and learn.

The site already includes a range of Nugal biik ("belongs to the earth" in Woi-wurrung) programs, including a nursery specialising in locally sourced Indigenous flora, Ranger programs, conservation volunteering and native grass and wildflower seed collection and propagation. 🪴

Our managing director Jebb Hutchison joined Andrew Giles MP, Federal Minister for Scullin and Minister for Skills and Training, Natalie Foeng, Yarra Valley Water Managing Director, Alex Haynes, Whittlesea Community Connections CEO and Bronwyn Halfpenny MP, State Member for Thomastown, to turn the first sod for the new building. 🪏

𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗢𝗞 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗢𝗞. 💛

𝗔𝗻𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝗸, "𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗢𝗞?".

Our teams got together last week in offices and on sites to bring awareness to the importance of checking in on your workmates, whenever you sense something is a bit off.

We support R U OK? Day every year because the construction industry has some confronting mental health statistics and it's up to all of us to have conversations that could make a difference and even save a life.

You can find out more about how to have an "are you OK?" Conversation here 👉🏽 https://www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask

📌 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲!

Border residents, we have our annual BBQ fundraiser this Sunday 20 September for the Sunshine Trust Albury Wodonga, at Bunnings in Albury.

Our BBQ kicks off fundraising in the lead up to the famous Sunshine Walk. 🌞

Held on 8 November, the walk raises money for the Sunshine Trust's Wellness Centre, providing cancer services including research, education, equipment and care coordination, allowing more people to be cared for on the border, near their families.

We will be serving up snags from 9am to 4pm so swing by and say g'day.

Can't make it?

No stress, you can make a donation via our team page here 👇🏽
