Gosh it is 2026 already. I hope everyone has had a great start of the new year. I am doing fine but nothing really new to share. Still working hard to survive, and it is so much harder in summer now with travelling so much! Its really exhausting travelling everywhere when it is over 35⁰C.

I am so sad thinking about all the bushfires and of course my heart goes out to those up north with the constant extreme temperatures. 😔

On a positive note, since I have countless of anthurium seedlings growing around here, I had to plant some up as 'companion" plants in a big pot🤭 and amazingly they survived outdoor in the over 40⁰C temperature!! Totally amazed here. Should name my seedlings as 'Tuffy-T' anthurium hybrids 😂😬

In my jungle, this newest leaf is wider than my shoulders. Probably the whole thing is larger than my upper body 🫣

Hello all .. having a break between jobs now at home, needing a shower before I head out again to my next client. It's getting warmer totally don't know how I can survive this summer with this travelling between jobs. Previously I work in one place, so even a whole day at work doesn't mean I actually work for all 8 hours.. now, in a day, 8 hours is solid work between two or three clients plus travelling time. Im exhausted, when I get home I'm broken. 😔

My plants are suffering.. it seems to be the case for so long now.. here's a picture of one anthurium thats just hanging on.. just waiting for me to actually take it out of the old mix and pot so the new growth can grow. They're just so amazing how can I really stop trying to take care of them?

Never thought that Anthuriums would be the most resilient plants I have under my care (neglect). Seriously. Even when they're struggling so bad, when I try to save them, they WOULD bounce back. Even those tiny little babies. When all other plants would just keep throwing tantrums at me.. not anthuriums. They might look stupid due to my neglect, but they stay alive and patiently wait for me to give them some love.

*goes back to repotting 100s of babies 😳

Never remembered that I had this Columnea Microphylla - it was struggling for the longest time, so since I haven't really been taking care of my plants I didnt think it was still alive.. but... nature has been taking care of it for me. A total surprise a couple of weeks ago when I decided to water and found this 😍

Found this container on a shelf that i haven't looked at probably since winter started. No light, just ambient light from the room. I basically stored any seeds I harvested from my anthuriums in containers like this and just left them, and hoped for the best. Don't ask me what hybrids... no time to care for them so my brain just didnt think to even label them properly 🥹

Anyone wants to adopt these little guys... please let me know ❤️

When you're faced with this type of garden.... i say to my client : oh the clover w**ds are beautiful and we should leave them, because no matter what I do, your compost will bring them back again. We are just recycling and wasting time to try clearing them 😬 and they laughed but totally agreed.

With work and life changes Im barely home, I travel a lot everywhere around Perth. My plants have been mostly neglected and I can see i am losing 80% of my collection. Winter has sped it up even more so. I'm sad, but its just one of those things we all go through. Maybe one day I will re start again with this journey. I know I've lost most of my hoyas 😔

I will talk more about it when I have more time. But now I have to rush to my first gardening client. It has been challenging and hard but I think it is for the better. I am a support worker to those who need my service. I hope you all have been well 🙏
