BIRST

29/09/2026

Today is World Heart Day, a reminder that looking after your heart health matters.

Through BIRST’s partnership with the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, construction workers have access to free heart health checks, helping identify potential warning signs before they become bigger problems.

It’s another way we’re helping to look after the people who make up our industry, not just their redundancy entitlements.

Keep an eye out for upcoming BIRST heart health check opportunities or speak to our team to find out more.

❓My employer has changed redundancy funds. Do I need to transfer my BIRST balance? ❓

No. Your existing funds can stay right where they are with BIRST, while your employer makes future contributions to their new fund.

There’s no need to consolidate your balance, and because BIRST doesn’t charge account fees, even on inactive accounts, you don’t have fees gradually eating away at the money you’ve built up.

When you become eligible to access your BIRST funds, we make the process quick and straightforward, with payments generally available within 48 hours.

Got a question about your BIRST account? Get in touch with our team — we’re happy to help.

What a day to be out in the Adelaide sunshine for the annual City 2 Bay event! ☀️

We teamed up with our friends at MATES in Construction SA, with Rob volunteering to cook the BBQ, giving MATES walkers and runners some much needed bacon and eggs supplied by BIRST when they crossed the finish line! 🥓 🍳

Today is 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, and we’re giving a shout-out to the many family businesses that help keep South Australia’s construction industry moving.

From businesses passed from one generation to the next, to families building something new together, family businesses play an important role in our industry, our economy and our local communities.

We’re proud to support so many of them through BIRST.

Heading into the BIRST office this week?

With the Royal Adelaide Show in full swing, things are a little busier than usual around our neighbourhood, and parking can be harder to come by.

If you’re planning to drop in, please allow a little extra time to find a park. And remember, if we can help you over the phone instead, you’re always welcome to give the BIRST team a call on 08 8373 0122.

Enjoy the Show if you’re heading along! 🎡
