⚠️ A Burst Flexible Hose Can Cause Serious Damage
A stainless steel braided flexible hose under your kitchen sink might look harmless, but when one fails, the consequences can be huge.
Recently, one of our clients had a flexible hose burst under their kitchen sink at 2:30am. By the time they discovered it, water had flooded the kitchen and lounge room, causing significant damage throughout the home.
These hoses are often overlooked because they’re out of sight and generally last for years — but they don’t last forever.
💧 A few simple checks can help prevent a major water disaster:
* Check flexible hoses regularly for corrosion, kinks, bulging or deterioration.
* Look for any signs of rust around the braided section or fittings.
* Don’t ignore small leaks or moisture around connections.
* Consider replacing older hoses before they fail.
* Know where your main water isolation valve is located.
A $20–$50 hose can potentially cause thousands of dollars in water damage if it fails while you’re asleep or away from home.
If your flexible hoses are getting old, it’s worth having them inspected and replaced before they become an emergency.
Prevention is always cheaper than water damage. 💧🔧
