Hey everyone 👋

Quick one for the parents — you know that moment when you set something up to keep the kids in check online, and three days later they've already figured out how to turn it off? 😅

That's exactly why I added PIN protection to SiteBlock. The free version is great to get started, but once your kids work out how to switch it off themselves (and they will), the PIN version locks everything down so only you can make changes.

Bit of a personal one today.

I've been a Cinema 4D user for years. Tried making the switch to Blender more than once — and more than once I quietly went back, telling myself I'd try again later.

It wasn't Blender's fault. The software is genuinely brilliant. But when you've spent years building muscle memory in one app, starting over in another feels exhausting. Every small task takes three times longer than it should, and that wears you down fast.

What helped me finally stick with it was giving myself a little familiarity to hold onto while I learned. So I built a small add-on — BlendC4D — that puts a C4D-style panel inside Blender's viewport. Nothing fancy. Just the basics in a layout that didn't make my brain hurt.

It's completely free and I put it up on my site for anyone else going through the same thing.

Honest question for the C4D community 👇

How many of you have tried Blender, got frustrated within the first week, and quietly went back to Cinema 4D?

Hey everyone 👋
Some parental control apps cost more per month than a streaming subscription. And they're still full of ads trying to upsell you to the next tier.

I find that a bit rich, honestly. You're paying to protect your kid's screen time, and the app is busy monetising your attention in the process.

SiteBlock is a one-time purchase. No subscription, no "premium unlock," no ads. You pay once, it works, and that's the whole relationship.

I'm not saying expensive = bad. But I do think if an app is charging you monthly to keep your kid off YouTube, the least it can do is not run ads at you while it does it.

Hey everyone 👋

Most parenting apps get downloaded, used for a week, and quietly deleted. Parents don't talk about it — they just move on to the next thing.

So when a mum messaged me to say SiteBlock was the first one that was still running three months later, I actually paused.

Not because it was a glowing review — but because three months is the real test. Anyone can make an app that works on day one. The question is whether it still works when the novelty is gone, the kids have tried every workaround, and life has gotten busy again.
She said the PIN was the thing. Once it was set, there was nothing to maintain. It just kept working.

That's exactly what I was trying to build.

Picture this: a teacher sets up site blocks at the start of class. By the second period, three kids have figured out how to "fix" it and quietly unblock everything. Sound familiar?

That's the exact gap I tried to close with SiteBlock. Once a block is set, it's locked behind a PIN — only the teacher knows it. No student-led "troubleshooting," no group effort to crack the settings during a free five minutes.

It sounds like a small detail, but it's actually the whole thing. A block that anyone can undo isn't really a block. The PIN is what makes it stick.

Hey everyone 👋

A teacher recently told me that half her class was on YouTube within five minutes of being given laptop time. They weren't being rebellious — they were just kids, and the internet was right there.
This is such a real problem in classrooms now. Schools invest in devices, teachers plan lessons around them, and then the open internet quietly undermines the whole thing.

SiteBlock was built as a parenting tool, but it works just as well in a classroom. A teacher or admin sets the blocks, locks it with a PIN, and students work in a focused environment without needing IT infrastructure or expensive school-wide software to make it happen.

Simple to set up. Hard to get around.

Hey everyone 👋

Had a mum at school pickup tell me her 9-year-old had figured out how to get around every parental control she'd tried. Third one this year. She was exhausted.

It's such a common story. Kids are resourceful, honestly impressive, a little terrifying, and a lot of the big-name tools have enough gaps that a determined kid finds the way through eventually.

That's the problem I was trying to solve when I built SiteBlock. Straightforward blocking, PIN protection so there's no workaround, and nothing bloated or confusing to set up.

(Side note: a few people have also told me they set it up for elderly parents who kept landing on dodgy sites by accident. Didn't expect that one, but it makes sense.)
