Check out what Stevie was up to today on a job in Mawson Lakes.

Our client came to us after he had finally had enough with his long ongoing battle with leaves and debris clogging his stormwater drainage constantly. Stevie got to the drawing board with the team and constructed a solution.

First step was a clean and flush of the entire stormwater system with the hydrojet to clean and remove any blockages from the system. Secondly each downpipe on the property was fitted with a rain harvesting leaf eater and an inspection point. What’s a rain harvesting leaf eater did I hear you say!? Good question, A leaf eater is a contraption that usually goes between your downpipe and the discharge pipe, It has a removable mesh strainer that catches any leaves or large debris that would usually settle and get trapped in your stormwater system. The inspection point was added for ease of access for our client to wash and flush the system with a hose in the dryer months of the year.

Here’s a start to finish slideshow of a repair and make good of a burst breech in a laundry. Unfortunately many of you can probably relate to a situation like this happening before as this happens quite regularly throughout old homes in Adelaide due to our harsh water conditions.

We started the job with leak detection investigation works, the outcome was a leak internally on one of the welds on the old breech peice.

We liased with the customers insurance company to come to a fast and swift resolution on the situation.

One of the our plumbers cleanly and carefully exposed the damage pipework then cut out and installed a new breech piece and pressure tested to ensure no leaks. Our maintenance devision then reinstated the waterproofing, mortar and ensured a flush finish all ready finally our tiler to put the finishing touches with a new tiled splashback.

Not only are we plumbers at BTP we also specialise in all aspects of property maintenance with many in-house trades. Whilst you’re thinking of installing that new tap or toilet you’ve wanted for so long ask our friendly customer service team if we can fix any loose ends around the house!

👍🥸 A nice round of expert troubleshooting from Henry. We were called to hot water unit only producing hot water at 35ish degrees. Henry managed to pinpoint the fault; he found the heater was set to wrong gas type (natural gas instead of LPG). This is an extremely rare fault however, Henry met the challenge! He fixed the issue, set up the unit, recommissioned the gas pressures and handed over a fully functional HOT water unit. Well done Henry, we’re proud of you 🔥🔥❤️

👍👍💦 We relined a small 40mm waste pipe under the building slab because another plumbing company used a Hydro Jetting Machine way too aggressively. They smashed the back of the basin waste elbow right out which meant water pouring under the foundations. The owners thought they’d have to smash out the bathroom, the tilled floor and the slab to repair with an estimated cost of 20k!! We managed to reline the pipe for a fraction of the cost and no damage whatsoever to the bathroom or vanity.
