Mount Louisa Walking Track Closure:

To ensure public safety while these works take place, the Mount Louisa Walking Track will be temporarily closed for 4 weeks starting this Monday. It is expected to reopen in late November 2026, weather permitting.
Meanwhile, work on the Woolcock and Weston Streets intersection is also continuing.
Please obey all safety and directional signage in the area. We sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of local residents, regular track users, and motorists throughout this 4-week construction period as we deliver this vital infrastructure for our city.

Growing Townsville 🏡🚧

Works are about to get underway on critical new traffic infrastructure to unlock more housing in the fast-growing northern suburbs.

The 4-week project will deliver a vital traffic connection into the Cosgrove development and will include an extension of Bayswater Road and the installation of a signalised intersection.

This is another example of Council working together with local developers like Parkside Land to deliver vital infrastructure to get more houses built, faster.

𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 - the Mount Louisa Walking Track will be temporarily closed from Monday to enable the works. It's expected to reopen late November 2026, subject to weather.

Work on the Woolcock and Weston Streets intersection will also continue.

It is Mic'd Up Monday once again, and this time we are handing the mic over to the team at Mendi!

We caught up with diesel fitters Leyland and Kye down in the workshop to get the latest update on what is rolling through the shop, followed by a quick round of rapid-fire questions.

Absolute massive effort from the CAMM Concrete crew!

The team dropped a huge 360m3 on site for Phoenix Constructions. This massive pour is a key piece of the puzzle for the Riverway Plaza extension.

A massive shoutout to our batchers and drivers for tackling the early starts and putting in the hard yards to get the job done.
