Kaydon & Co were proud to be one of the sponsors of the Souths Bulls U7s for the Corey Jensen Carnival in Bowen over the long weekend.

Alongside fellow sponsors KC & Sons Transport, WF Electrical, ShedEx Townsville and Hairstyles By Mikayla, we were able to help provide the kids with their own playing kits, including personalised jerseys, some very cool socks and Souths Bulls caps 🙌

And didn’t they look the part! 🔥

More importantly, the kids played their hearts out on the field, supported their teammates and made some great memories together along the way.

Grassroots footy is about so much more than what happens on the field, and we’re proud to be able to support these young players and help make weekends like this one a little extra special.

Well done to all the kids, coaches, volunteers and families who made the trip to Bowen.... what a weekend! 🏉🐂

👷‍♂️ **Big boss is back on site!** 🔨

This reno in the heart of West End definitely hasn’t gone quite to plan… turns out the bones of the old girl are a little more **lop-sided than we bargained for!** 😅

It’s been a challenging one, but with plenty of **creative thinking, problem-solving and adapting, the boys have been working through each surprise as it comes.

It certainly helps having great clients who have been understanding and supportive throughout the process. Renovations can uncover a few unexpected surprises, and this one has definitely kept us on our toes!

Plenty happening behind the scenes to bring it all back together.

Leading Hand Carpenter - Full-Time | Townsville

Kaydon & Co Constructions is a growing Townsville builder delivering quality renovations, extensions and new homes. We are looking for an experienced, reliable Leading Hand Carpenter who takes pride in their work and is ready to step into a key role within our team.

This is a genuine opportunity for someone who wants more than just another carpentry job. You will be trusted to lead from the front, help run quality residential projects, and grow with a business that values good workmanship, clear communication and a strong team culture.

The role
You will work hands-on while leading and coordinating our carpentry crew, apprentices, subcontractors and day-to-day site activities.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading carpentry works across renovations, extensions and new homes
• Reading plans, organising daily tasks and keeping work moving
• Coordinating trades, materials and site requirements
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and site presentation
• Supporting apprentices and setting the standard for the crew
• Communicating professionally with clients, trades and management
• Solving problems on site and taking ownership of outcomes

What we offer
• Permanent full-time position - minimum 38 hours per week
• Competitive above award pay rate + super
• Applicable industry, tool and leading hand allowances
• Maintained company utility vehicle and dedicated fuel card
• Consistent local work throughout Townsville and surrounding areas

What we need from you
• Qualified carpenter with solid residential construction experience
• Previous leading hand experience, or the proven ability to lead a crew and increase productivity.
• Strong all-round carpentry skills and ability to read plans
• High standard of workmanship and pride in a tidy, safe site
• Reliable, organised and able to communicate well with people
• Current Queensland Driver Licence and White Card
• A positive attitude, good work ethic and willingness to be part of a quality team

What was once a tired old ensuite and a separate laundry/shower room has been completely transformed into a stunning, resort-style retreat. Think moody tones, rich textures and timeless finishes that bring a real sense of luxury to everyday living. The new spaces feature beautiful stone tiles, elegant cabinetry, and a breathtaking marble vanity creating a bathroom that feels more like a five-star resort than a home renovation. Every detail was carefully considered to deliver both style and function, turning two outdated spaces into sophisticated rooms our clients can truly relax in.

Marley completed his Year 10 Work Experience placement with Kayden & Co Constructions, where he made a fantastic impression. After staying in touch, he returned to work with the team at the start of this year — showing initiative, dedication and a real passion for the trade.

His strong work ethic and excellent communication with his employer have led to an amazing opportunity — Marley has now been signed into his School-Based Certificate III in Carpentry!

We are incredibly proud of Marley and look forward to supporting him as he builds his future in the construction industry. 🏗️👏
