Some news 🤎
After over a year of uncertainty on our next steps, Mum and I have arrived at the conclusion that it is time to close the chapter of our lives that is Next Of Kin. It’s been a really difficult decision to make, but one that we believe will create space in both our lives for new and beautiful creative outlets in different forms. So, although endings are always sad in some way, we are mostly just grateful for 10 years of this little business and for everything it has brought into our lives.
If there’s anything that we’d love for people to keep with them from Next Of Kin it’s to think about whose hands made your daily objects — all these so easily overlooked items that make our lives comfortable and beautiful (eg. that mug you drink your coffee from). To consider whether the process of creating it brought someone peace, or positivity in some way, or whether it did the opposite? And whether the existence of this object is in harmony with the Earth, with nature, or whether it is actively damaging it?
Just some food for thought 🤎
For us, it’s goodbye to this beautiful little brand/mother-daughter collaboration and time to each see where our creativity takes us next. You can continue to follow Mum (Fiona) + myself (Suzanne) if you would like to.
Thank you so much, truly, in more ways than words could ever really express to all of our customers and stockists and market organisers and collaborators and workshop attendees and supporters (especially our family and friends) in whatever form you came in for all these years. We will always be so grateful for all the support and opportunities that Next Of Kin received and proud of what we created together 🤎🤎🤎 thank you 🤎🤎🤎
