Jip Paint NT is a proudly Tiwi-owned painting service based in the Northern Territory.

Founded and led by Russell Black, a painter with over 30 years of experience. We deliver reliable residential, commercial and community painting services across the Top End NT.

The name “JIP” comes from Russell’s yiminga (mother’s tribe), Takaringuwi, the Mullet tribe. Jip represents the sound mullets make when they dive into the water. 🐟

The bird featured in our logo is the Magpie Goose, Russell’s dreaming inherited from his adopted Tiwi father, “Pirlakaju”. Magpie geese are iconic to northern Australia and hold strong cultural significance across the region.

We take pride in neat finishes, clean worksites, and delivering a respectful, professional service from start to finish.

Founded by Russell Black, a proud Tiwi man from Melville Island NT, Jip Painting Services (Jip Paint) is an Aboriginal-owned business with over 30 years of professional painting experience.

We deliver high-quality finishes with professional results for residential, commercial, and community projects across Darwin and remote NT.

Jip Paint is family-run. Russell is a professional painter by trade and has worked extensively across the Darwin region and remote communities. He is joined by his daughter, Cassie Puruntatameri, who brings nearly a decade of experience in business administration and manages the planning, development, and operations of Jip Paint. All socials are managed by Cassie.
