From hidden attic ladder to fully integrated custom staircase.

This project completely transformed how this family uses their home. We removed the standard pull-down attic ladder that sat right in the middle of the lounge room and designed a permanent staircase tucked neatly into the laundry instead.

✨More functional living space

We recently designed and installed this beautiful new external garage door. After years of wear and tear, our client was ready for a well-deserved upgrade.

With the existing unique measurements and design, no standard manufacturers could supply or install a suitable door - so we crafted one from scratch using H3 LOSP timber.

Love a challenge – and this staircase definitely delivered. 🧱🪜

A lot of thought and planning went into making this one work. The space was tight, with low head heights both above and below, pushing us right to the limits of the National Construction Code.

📐 Key regulations:

Riser height: Min 115mm – Max 190mm
Going depth: Min 240mm – Max 355mm
2R + G (twice the riser + going) must be between 550mm – 700mm
In this case, we were working with:

Max riser (190mm)
Min going (240mm)
Head height: 2010mm above and below
The original layout had 900mm² landings and kite winders. To make it work, we had to extend the landing and shorten the winders — To make the staircase compliant.
