Is one burner on your cooktop nowhere near as good as the others?
You notice it when a pot takes twice as long to boil, or the flame sits low and lazy while the burner beside it roars away. Most people just quietly stop using that one.
Usually it is the burner ports, the small slots around the rim, clogged with spilled food and cleaning residue. That one is worth a look yourself. Let it go completely cold, lift off the cap and crown, wash them in warm soapy water with a soft brush, and dry them fully before they go back. Check the cap sits flat and properly seated, because one put back slightly off does exactly the same thing.
Still weak after that? Stop there. It usually points to the injector, the isolation valve or the gas pressure at the appliance, and all three are gasfitter territory.
Same goes if the flame burns yellow or orange instead of blue, or you are getting black marks on the base of your pans. That means it is not burning cleanly, and it is not something to live with.
Our licensed gasfitters can service the cooktop, check the pressure and get every burner working properly again.
