It all starts with understanding what’s already there.

Last week we were out in Turramurra carrying out a detailed measure-up of this beautiful existing home.

For this project, our role is to accurately document the property and redraw the existing house plans — creating a clear and reliable set of drawings that reflects what is actually built today.

Not every project starts with a new design. Sometimes the first and most important step is simply having accurate plans of your existing home.

For some of the more complex sites, a site visit can make all the difference.

We’re excited to have this Pymble project getting underway soon. Visiting the site gives us a much better understanding of the levels, surrounding properties, vegetation, access and overall character of the land before we start developing the design.

Plans, surveys and aerial images give us plenty of information, but sometimes being on site is what really brings everything together.

Looking forward to seeing this one take shape.

The new upper level gives the family the extra space they needed, while the exterior was reworked to create a much stronger architectural identity. The result is a fresh coastal-inspired home, with crisp white finishes, pitched roof forms, generous eaves and detailing that suits its Northern Beaches setting.

We all love a site visit! 👷‍♂️🏡

It’s great to see this Menangle Park project taking its first steps, with the site now cut and ready for what’s to come.

Sloping blocks can present their own set of challenges, particularly when it comes to levels, access and buildability — but with the right design approach, they can also create some fantastic opportunities.
