To mark the beginning of National Safe Work Month, we’re sharing the small habits that make a real difference to keeping safe at work. From speaking up, checking in, following the plan and looking out for the people around you.

R U OK? Day was 10 September but we don’t think checking in with each other shouldn’t have an expiry date.

Throughout September, our teams have been continuing the conversation across Alliance SI sites.

During our toolbox sessions and at our offices, we’ve made time to step away from the work for a moment, grab a KitKat and, more importantly, check in with the people beside us.

We’ve also been sharing resources with our teams and creating opportunities to keep learning and talking about mental health beyond the day itself.

In our industry, we rely on each other every day. We work in demanding environments, solve complex problems and share responsibility for getting everyone home safely. Looking out for each other is part of that responsibility too.

Sometimes it starts with something as simple as noticing a change, making time for a coffee or asking someone how they’re really going.

R U OK? Day is an important reminder to ask the question.
Building a culture where people feel safe and trusted enough to answer it takes all of us, all year round.

This National Tradie Day, we want to recognise the people who make Australia’s digital infrastructure happen.

Almost 2 million Australians work in technician and trade roles, making up around 14% of the national workforce.

They are a critical part of delivering the infrastructure and essential services the rest of the economy relies on.

Today, we want to take a moment to recognise the tradies behind all the cabling, installations, fit-outs, upgrades and on-site problem-solving.

This might not always be the most visible part of a project, but they’re what turns design into infrastructure and they bring the skills that keep Australia moving.

From the early starts to getting the job done right, we’re grateful for everything they bring to the table.

It was a big week for Australia’s data centre industry.

We attended Informa Australia's Data Center World in Melbourne, followed by Data Centres Australia's Excellence Awards Gala Dinner, bringing together the people and partnerships shaping the industry.

We were also pleased to support Codecom with the fitout of their demo rack for the event.

Our team brought the same attention to detail we bring on-site, with Codecom recognising the precision of the completed fitout.

A great opportunity to connect with the teams supporting Australia’s critical digital infrastructure. Thank you to Codecom for the trust, and to the event organisers for bringing the industry together.

A few months on, we’re still reflecting on the day our team came together to prepare 200 Care Packs for children undergoing cancer treatment.

Together with Kids with Cancer Foundation, our Silverwater team packed 200 Care Packs, with our team members in the Philippines creating handwritten cards with messages of kindness, encouragement and hope for children and their families.

It was a simple way to show support, but a powerful reminder that care can travel far. Whether it’s packing a box, writing a card or giving time, every contribution can help a child and their family feel seen and supported.

This International Day of Charity, we're grateful for the Kids with Cancer Foundation and the practical, emotional and financial support they provide to families every day. We're proud to call them our charity of choice, and through fundraising, donations and team volunteering, we know our impact adds up in a meaningful way.

Working in complex operational environments can expose our teams to hazardous noise. Protecting their hearing while maintaining communication and situational awareness requires the right controls.

One approach we’ve introduced is individually moulded hearing protection, designed to provide appropriate protection while maintaining communication, situational awareness and alarm audibility.

It’s one example of the practical safety improvements that contributed to Alliance SI receiving the Work Health & Safety – Excellence in Action Award at the 2026 Victoria (TAG) Excellence Awards.

For us, it reflects a simple approach: listen to our people, understand the risks they face and continually improve the way we work.
