🔥 MERMAID PROJECT UNDERWAY 🔥

Another cracking project underway for the DNM team here in Mermaid.

We’re handling the plastering and full painting package on this one, taking it right through from the preparation stages to the final finish. 👌🏼

There’s still plenty of work ahead, but you can already see the potential in this place. Once the plastering is finished and we start laying down the paint, it’s going to completely transform it.

We love projects like this where we get to see it come together from the early stages right through to the finished product.

Can’t wait to show you the end result — this one is going to look bloody good! 🔥💪🏼

This beautiful home down in Kingscliff, Northern NSW, is coming up an absolute treat. 👌🏼

At only five years old, it was already badly in need of a repaint — which just goes to show how quickly homes in coastal environments can start to deteriorate when the correct coating system hasn’t been used from day one.

Rest assured, the team at DNM Painting & Decorating is bringing this one back to its former glory. 💪🏼

We’re using Dulux Acratex AcraShield — a high-quality membrane coating system designed for rendered and acrylic-rendered exterior surfaces, giving this home the protection it needs against the harsh coastal conditions.

Preparation. Correct products. Quality application.

Do it once. Do it right. That’s the DNM motto.

One of the last major projects we undertook in NZ. The finish on this was challenging to work with and achieving a finish that preserved natural finishes.

Not bad effort for the Top 10 in 2025. First year back in Oz after being away for 10 years. It’s definitely a trade where seeing the finished product is rewarding and motivating.

Well, here’s one that has just been completed and it’s come up an absolute treat.

We had plenty of repair work ahead of us, with cracked gyprock joins throughout and some precision plastering required to get everything paint-ready. As always, the preparation is what makes the difference in achieving a flawless finish.

The team at DNM Painting & Decorating really worked well on this one, putting in the time and effort to ensure every repair and detail was completed to the highest standard before a brush even touched the walls.

We used a matt finish on the walls as this home receives an abundance of natural light from every angle, helping to minimise imperfections while giving a clean, modern look.

Colours used were Pure White on the ceilings and ¼ Lexicon on the walls with an extra drop of black to create a fresh, crisp finish.

The transformation speaks for itself, and Brian and his wife were fantastic clients to work for from start to finish. A big thank you to them for trusting us with their home.

Another day and another $$ 💰

Here we had some hairline cracks appear in ceilings that are around 7 years old. All plastering is done in-house, using Base Coat 45 and Fibre Fuse, followed by two top coats of topping compound to achieve a seamless finish.

A lot of people ask why we go out so wide with our repairs. Simple — it’s the only way to achieve a flawless finish with no visible humps or ridges. Some repairs can leave more humps than a humpback whale! 😁

If you need plastering work done, remember DNM Painting & Decorating handles all repair and insurance work, including:

✔️ Crack repairs
✔️ Gib fixing
✔️ Cut-outs and patching
✔️ Skim coating
✔️ Ceiling and wall restoration

The difference is we don’t just plaster it — we paint it too, so we know it has to be right the first time.

Well this one has come up pretty decent with a lot of work gone into it. Plenty of repair work along the way too — the blue board had cracking throughout, so we repaired it all using Dulux acrylic render to get everything matching and looking seamless again. Definitely one of those jobs where the prep work makes all the difference. Great customer who’s been very appreciative along the way .
