🏀 Have you had the chance to try out the new courts? Working alongside Yarra Contracting, our team delivered the surface preparation, coating application and line marking for the new basketball courts as part of the West Gate Tunnel Project.

Achieving this finish starts well before the colour goes down. The substrate was mechanically prepared to ensure optimal profile and adhesion, followed by a multi layer coating system designed to meet performance requirements around slip resistance, durability and UV stability. Film build, curing conditions and environmental factors were all closely controlled throughout application to ensure consistency across the surface.

Line marking was then applied with precision to maintain dimensional accuracy and long term definition under constant use. The result is a high performance sporting surface, built to withstand foot traffic while maintaining finish integrity over time.

This is not your typical scaffold environment. Inside a TBM tunnel, everything changes. You are working within a fully curved, confined structure with no true level datum, limited fixing points and critical services already in place. In this case, the scaffold has been configured to suit the tunnel geometry, with base arrangements adjusted to manage load on a sloped surface while maintaining level working platforms. Bay spacing is adapted to the radius of the tunnel, ensuring consistency and structural integrity across the build.

Access has been engineered into the solution. The stair system is positioned to handle level transitions within a restricted footprint, allowing safe movement without disrupting surrounding works. Overhead, large diameter services run through the crown, requiring the scaffold to be built around existing infrastructure while maintaining clearances and usability.

Tie locations are limited within a TBM segmental lining, so the structure relies on controlled fixing points combined with engineered bracing to maintain rigidity. Every connection plays a role in overall performance.

Brisbane, we’re underway! A major step forward for the business, we’ve secured our first project in Queensland, supporting the Cross River Rail Project.

The Cross River Rail is a 10.2 kilometre rail line running through the centre of Brisbane, including new underground stations and major infrastructure upgrades set to transform the city’s transport network.

Our team will be delivering Surface Preparation and Protective Coatings within a complex construction environment, continuing to expand our capability across large scale infrastructure projects nationally.

On most projects, the biggest delays come down to one thing. Missing information. Another site visit. Another measure. Another assumption that doesn’t quite stack up. We’ve started removing that risk altogether.

Our design and project team are now using handheld scanning technology to capture full site conditions in real time. Walk the site once and you’ve got a complete, accurate digital view to work from. With centimetre level accuracy and real time point cloud capture, our teams can plan access, scaffolding and coatings around what’s actually there, not what we think is there.
