Recently our team have completed a sheet metal rear fence at a property in Strahan with galvanised steel framed gates to suit the profile of the fence.

This job had its challenging moments with vandalism and a few wet days!

The foundation of the fence consists of a concrete plinth with steel reinforcement and post holes for each post. Blue metal road base will be compacted down making use of the new rear access.

Shout out to Curtis from Waymaker Contracting Pty Ltd for the gate fabrication

Thank you very much for your patience Kim & Graeme.

Congratulations Jedd Morrison as today you have officially completed your carpentry apprenticeship!

Jedd has been an outstanding apprentice, from a raw, just turned 16 yo to a very competent young man who has taken every challenge in his stride and has stepped up, stayed back late and always keen to learn a new skill…which is lucky because in your time you have gained competencies in not only carpentry but tiling, waterproofing, concreting, plan reading, machine operating & sheetmetal.

In addition to learning the trade skills, Jedd has also been involved preforming business tasks such as payroll, quoting, contracts, invoicing, material ordering and client relationships.

We are thrilled that Jedd will continue on within the business as a qualified carpenter.🎉

Tonight, everyone from TAS West Building, family & friends will gather for a meal to celebrate the milestone!🍻🎁

Recently our team have completed erecting a 16mx8m kit shed in Lowanna. With the roller door opening of 3.1m high, there is plenty of room to fit the biggest of toys in!

This new shed with a view is a great addition to a recent new home build through Thomas Bennet Builders.

We hope that the clients settle into their new home & shed well and get many happy years from this location.

12 years of hard work onsite and 2 years of night schooling has paid off with the recent approval of my domestic builders registration in Tasmania.

Thank you to everyone who had a role to play in this from my supportive family, lead by my awesome wife, parents, brother, current employees, friends, former employers & mentors, especially Ray who gave me my first opportunity when I was 17.

Exciting times ahead building on the remote West Coast of Tasmania!

We have recently completed a deck upgrade in Queenstown, removing the old 90x18 treated pine and replaced it with 90x18 merbau hardwood. The current deck was over spanning so we added some more strength in the existing deck frame to reduce any bounce and movement.

I wish we hosed down the deck to get the photos but unfortunately the West Coast rain did it for us!

Working alongside our 4th year apprentice Jedd each day, the boys have done a power of work already to start the year!

Doesn’t he look good in his new buckaroo nail bag and the TWB kit 🔨

Steve was busy last Monday building a gate, leading from the rear deck into the yard for David & Meredith in Strahan.

This gate was made from a treated pine frame, hardwood decking planks to suit existing and serviceable galvanised lift off hinges ⚒️
