NSW Workers Compensation reforms – what you need to know

The NSW Government has passed the Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment (Reform and Modernisation) Bill 2025, introducing changes designed to strengthen support for employees who experience workplace injury or illness.

So, what’s changing?
💠 The 15% Work Injury Damages (WID) threshold has been preserved.
💠 A new intensive “Return to Work” program will be introduced.
💠 The Whole Person Impairment (WPI) threshold will increase.
💠 Greater clarity around claim pathways.
