The team are nearing the completion of the first stage of streetscape works on Drakes Place. This stage includes approximately 1,000 sqm of new pedestrian footpath to improve the pedestrian accessibility to the parking areas, as well as new street lighting, street furniture, and a new carpark layout. We’re looking forward to the asphalt works being completed next, allowing the carpark to be ready for use before we move onto the next stage of the project. The team revisited in Oakleigh recently, a project finished in 2025. Usually saturated with lush trees, now leafless, we get to appreciate the works which included splitter islands, a raised platform pedestrian crossing and the vibrant line markings, before the trees start blossoming for Spring. The team are excited to start work on the Drakes Place Streetscape project. Part of the revitalisation program of the Pakenham area, this new stage aims to connect stage 1 (completed by our team), by improving the carpark area along with upgrading the surrounding footpaths, the public lighting, as well as the street furniture. The team recently completed two flat top speed humps and one wombat crossing which required also drainage upgrade works at Maple Street in Seaford. The team also installed solar lighting to improve the visibility in the area. I appreciate we’re looking at speed humps but they look mighty fine amongst the leafy background and hue-filled sky. A crossroad, now which way do we take…?! The team recently completed two raised platforms near the Hampden Road intersection in leafy Armadale. Completed for the , the infrastructure upgrade means these platforms will improve vehicular and pedestrian safety by slowing traffic down as cars approach the busy intersection.
