The Triple B team recently installed steel fencing around the Scone Pony Club’s shed extension, creating a designated horse-free zone to improve spectator safety while protecting the shed and its recent improvements from accidental damage.

A few key features of this installation:

- Durable steel fencing designed to withstand the demands of a busy equestrian facility.

- Hinged cattle rail gates providing practical access while maintaining a secure barrier.

- Removable posts allowing wider vehicle access when required, without compromising the everyday functionality of the space.

We love projects like these, where a few thoughtful design features make a big difference to how a facility operates.

BUILT FOR THE HORSES, DESIGNED FOR PRACTICALITY 🐴🔨

Mesh barn-style stables can be an excellent attribute to any farm, and can be completely customised like a modular lounge with multiple configurations.

Originally, the project pictured was designed with foaling mares and young foals in mind, these stables have become an incredibly versatile part of the clients equine facilities, accommodating everything from mares and foals to rehabilitation cases and performance horses.

One of the favourite features is the open mesh design. It allows the horses to see what’s happening around the farm, interact with their neighbours and remain part of their surroundings, even when stabled.

And the best part? The horses genuinely LOVE them. Given the choice, you’ll often find them standing inside watching the world go by rather than out in their yards!

For us, good design isn’t just about how something looks. It’s about creating spaces that are safe, practical, functional and enjoyable for both the horses and the people working with them.

MEET BAYLEY 👋🏼 aka. The boss man 🧢

The bloke behind Triple B Contracting. Did you know “Triple B” stands for “Built by Bayley”? Well now you do! For so long people were saying “that was built by Bayley!” We figured it was time he did it for more than just the love of it and created Triple B Contracting Pty Ltd.

Bayley is the owner, builder, fabricator, operator, problem solver and usually the one covered in dust, mud or welding sparks at the end of the day.

Based in Scone and servicing the Upper Hunter and surrounds, Triple B Contracting was built around Bayley’s practical approach to rural construction: build it properly, make it functional, make sure it’s safe for horses, and make sure it lasts.

From rural and equine fencing, stables, shelters and yards, through to wash bays, barn fit-outs, fabrication, earthworks and those slightly unusual jobs that need someone who can actually work out how to build them — Bayley is generally happiest when there’s a problem to solve.

Being heavily involved in our own equine property Hillview Equine | Scone, NSW also means he understands that rural infrastructure needs to do more than just look good. It needs to work day in, day out, around horses, livestock, machinery and the people using it.

He’s particular about his work, quietly proud of what he builds, and much more comfortable behind a welder or excavator than in front of a camera… so naturally, we thought it was time he had a proper introduction.

Another mid-season repair ticked off!

We were contacted about a horse float with the extent of the damage initially unknown.

Upon inspection, we found that a failed wheel bearing had damaged the axle thread, requiring the axle to be replaced. Once the hub was removed to inspect the axle and braking components, we also discovered a broken suspension spring.
For peace of mind for our client, the running gear was replaced, the remaining axle inspected to ensure its safety for continued use, new suspension components and U-bolts fitted, the electric brakes reconnected and tested, and the float given a full check-over before heading back out.

This float is now back on the road and ready to keep the team rolling throughout foaling season.💪🏻

FLOAT UPGRADE 🐴🔨

Making the most of every bit of empty space with a practical float upgrade designed around storage, safety and functionality.

This fit-out included:
• Saddle racks
• Custom storage cupboard
• A secure door added to the overhead cage — keeping gear contained while travelling and reducing the risk of anything falling onto the horses
• Replacement interior light
• Repairs to the access door

A few simple additions that make a big difference. More organised, more usable and, most importantly, safer for the horses travelling inside.
