End of day wrap up - Michael and Jason brought home an Outright Classic win - achieving 3rd place - and a top 10 outright placing - the smiles say it all. Great end to a great weekend. Still some work to do on the car for future events, but happy vibes all round. Thank you to everyone for your support over the weekend and a huge thank you and congratulations to the Sapphire Car Club officials and volunteers for a fantastic event at the Bega Valley Rally 2026.

Well rally fans, a great weekend rallying and the team have brought the car home in solid fashion. Car has performed well, driver and navigator outstanding. Smiles all round as the team packs down and prepares for final results. 😀😀😀 well done team and a great weekend!!!

Michael and Jason have finished the night stages and the Stanza is back in service. It will be another early start for Day 2 tomorrow - road books at 7.30am, Drivers briefing and first car away at 8.30am. The MV Solar crew are completing a night service so the team are ready to head out first thing.

Quick update: They finished C1, the car is OK but has no rear brakes and the front brakes were locking. Michael thinks it was only the brake bias which they have now adjusted. They are now running car 23 on the road after returning late from the Halda check. They were waiting to start stage 2 but it appears there is a car blocking the road and the stage will be cancelled. They are now moving to stage 3. Crew are waiting at the refuel location at the end of that stage.

It was an early morning start for the MV Solar Rally team today as they head to the Bega Valley Rally on the NSW Southcoast. The Stanza will be in the capable hands of Driver Michael Valantine and Navigator Jason Fraser. Crew: Dennis Valantine, Kirk Bendall, Graeme Taylor, Phil Limbert and Karen Portolan.
