Project Completed – Trinity College Melbourne, Project 100

M Squared Electrical is proud to reflect on the successful delivery of Project 100 at Trinity College () , completed in partnership with Harris HMC ().

Designed to complement the heritage-listed campus, the building integrates seamlessly with the surrounding 19th-century ivy-clad stone and brick architecture, enhancing the character of this iconic Melbourne institution.

M Squared Electrical delivered a comprehensive early works package, including a new 1.5MVA substation, 2000AMP main switchboard, distribution network, mains upgrades, and fibre reticulation — all executed within a live, fully operational heritage environment.

The main works comprised 104 student accommodation residences, alongside offices, learning spaces and a gym, supported by specialised lighting, AV systems, Panduit communications, Integriti security, Vingcard access control, and a 28kW solar PV system.

We are proud to have contributed to a project that continues to support student life while respecting the rich heritage of the Trinity College campus.

Project Completed – Viridi, 17–22 Grattan Street, Prahran

M Squared Electrical is proud to reflect on the successful delivery of Viridi at 17–22 Grattan Street, Prahran, completed in partnership with Cobild.

Developed by Little Projects and designed by Plus Architecture, Viridi has become a standout residential address within one of Melbourne’s most sought-after suburbs.

Comprising 44 owner-occupier residences, the development was carefully designed to maximise natural light while protecting the amenity of the neighbouring Grattan Gardens. The building’s distinctive sloping façade and innovative truss system ensure no overshadowing, while creating a striking architectural outcome that integrates seamlessly with its surroundings.

With passive sustainable features including double glazing and high-performance insulation, Viridi continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to energy efficiency and thoughtful design.

Project Completed – High Street BTR, 6–34 High Street, Preston

M Squared Electrical is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Build-to-Rent development at 6–34 High Street, Preston, delivered in partnership with Kapitol Group.

Designed by award-winning architects (Rothelowman), this project reflects their belief that good architecture is essential to the successful evolution of cities. The development represents a progressive approach to affordable housing, balancing high-quality design, functionality and aesthetic appeal while meeting the needs of a growing urban population.

Located within the Preston Junction Precinct, the project will become the tallest development in Preston, rising 18 storeys and delivering 292 studio, one and two-bedroom apartments, including seven duplex townhouses. The development will also incorporate six retail tenancies, a three-level basement car park, and premium resident amenities including a landscaped courtyard, residents’ lounge and rooftop terrace.

This project marks another milestone in supporting Melbourne’s growing demand for high-quality, purpose-built rental housing. M Squared Electrical is delighted to have delivered Stage 2 of Manor Lakes Shopping Centre, achieving practical completion alongside Hacer Group.

Positioned within the high-growth Manor Lakes corridor in the City of Wyndham, the expansion significantly enhances retail amenity for the local community.

The completed works include a 21,971sqm retail extension featuring 26 new tenancies, highlighted by major retailers such as Kmart, Best & Less, and Anytime Fitness. A new 506-space car park integrates seamlessly with the existing centre, which includes a Coles supermarket and additional retail offerings.

A key feature of the project is the fully automated KNX lighting system, delivering advanced control across both mall and external environments, enhancing safety, efficiency and overall user experience.

Rising 32 storeys above the CBD, the tower introduces a bold yet refined presence to Little Lonsdale Street, combining rich red brickwork with vertical façade fins that create a striking architectural statement within Melbourne’s evolving skyline.

At Level 8, a vibrant communal guest space delivers a dynamic hospitality experience, while at ground level the development revitalises Zeven Boom Lane with a lively restaurant and bar. Anchored by brick column detailing and complemented by a lush vertical garden, the façade respectfully acknowledges Melbourne’s architectural heritage while introducing contemporary energy.

M Squared Electrical is excited to announce our appointment by Cobild to deliver Fitzroy Fitzroy — a striking new residential neighbourhood set along iconic Smith Street.

Positioned within one of Melbourne’s most culturally rich precincts, the nine-storey development thoughtfully incorporates the existing interwar workshop and garage façade, preserving the heritage character of Smith Street while introducing a bold contemporary architectural form.

Cascading greenery softens the angular concrete and brick exterior, creating a seamless dialogue between old and new. Inside, the residences have been designed for connection and social living, featuring expansive kitchens with monolithic benchtops, full-height glazing, double-height voids and strong indoor-outdoor integration.

Project Completed – The Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC), Narre Warren

M Squared Electrical is proud to have delivered the electrical scope for the new Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC) in Narre Warren, achieving practical completion alongside Hutchinson Builders.

Delivered for Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre, this state-of-the-art facility has become Victoria’s first Net Zero Energy education and research centre. Our team was responsible for the complete electrical installation, including a 273.2kW solar PV system designed to enable the building to generate 100% of its operational energy requirements onsite.

The development showcases advanced sustainable design, combining renewable energy systems with passive design strategies such as natural ventilation, optimal daylight integration and high-performance insulation.

We are honoured to have played a key role in delivering a future-focused training facility that supports industry innovation and environmental leadership.
