We’re excited to start collaborating with Kismet Park Primary School staff, students and community as we begin developing the school's Master Plan.

Set amongst the gum trees in Sunbury’s leafy Gum Tree Hills Estate, many of the school's buildings and facilities date back to 1980, when it was built, and need modernising and upgrading.

Over the coming months, we’ll consult with the school community and work closely and collaboratively with staff and students to:

🎯 Understand and identify their goals, needs, aspirations and priorities.

🔎 Gather all the necessary site and planning information.

🧭 Create a staged development plan that will guide development over the next decade and beyond.

Far more than just a set of drawings, the Master Plan will set out a long-term and considered strategy that ensures future investment and development supports the school’s current and future needs, vision, pedagogical approach and aspirations, and provides the flexibility and adaptability needed to allow it to keep pace and evolve alongside this fast-changing world in which we live.

With the countdown now on as IZZA Group nears completion of the new Stables Kindergarten in Mill Park, we thought we’d share a sneak peek.

Now that the flooring, cabinetry, light fittings and feature panelling are all in place, you can really get a taste of how the different hues of colour, geometric design elements and natural, tactile and sensory materials and textures combine to create a space that feels safe and welcoming.

Designed to maximise natural light, seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor environments and maximise the flexibility, versatility and functionality, its two kinder learning environments will support play-based learning, promote wellbeing, stimulate young minds and foster curiosity.

With sustainability a key priority, passive design principles alongside considered material selections, double-glazing, solar panels, a rainwater re-use system and permeable paving will all work to minimise the centre's consumption.

With only the finishing touches and landscaping remaining, it won’t be long before the local community’s children, families and staff are enjoying all that the new centre has to offer.

At the time, South Yarra Primary School's three-storey learning centre was the largest and most complex modular building project the Victorian Department of Education had undertaken.

Seamlessly connecting two historic Art Deco buildings, the contemporary structure’s architectural forms, shapes and materials reference and draw inspiration from other buildings within the school grounds.

Twelve contemporary, flexible, interconnected learning environments spread over three levels support a variety of teaching and learning modalities and provide the space and amenity for students to work collaboratively, individually and in small groups, with optimal supervision at all times.

The second floor’s spatial configuration and classroom's operable walls allow the floor to be transformed into a large open space for assemblies, activities and functions.

In 2020, the project was awarded the Victorian School Design Award, which celebrates and recognises architects who are creating world-class learning facilities for Victorian schools through innovative, creative and practical building and learning environment design.

Six years on, the centre’s design and flexibility continue to allow the school and its educators to embrace different learning experiences and pedagogical approaches and evolve alongside the ever-changing education landscape.

It won’t be long until the students who call St Hilda's College - University of Melbourne home are enjoying social gatherings, hosting functions and performing in this previously unused basement.

While its lack of natural light was a challenge, the expansive glazing we’ve added to the ground-floor entrance and elevator shaft, together with the ceiling void and open staircase, allows it to flow through to the space below.

As Pirotta Services Commercial nears completion, we can see just how these features, together with its rich acoustic timber panelling, lit ceiling, open staircase, ceiling void and overall aesthetic, are transforming it into a contemporary, intimate and inviting space that will be much-loved and used by the college community for decades to come.

With the steel frame now in place and timber framing underway, excitement and anticipation is building amongst the St Bernard's Parish Primary School community as their new learning centre begins to take shape.

The centre’s design and architectural language celebrates the school’s rich history and the faith and traditions that bind its community.

Its architectural forms, features and materials reference and are inspired by the Parish church, while biblical symbols are subtly woven within its fabric, such as the facade, which will feature a contemporary mural representing divine light.

Once Melbcon completes construction, staff and students will enjoy and benefit from the centre's flexible, contemporary learning environments and spaces that will support all types of learning experiences and activities, encourage connection and enhance wellbeing.

Always great to be on site and see our projects taking shape. And this week’s site meeting at Diggers Rest Primary School with 2Construct was no exception, with the new learning centre, gymnasium and canteen really starting to take shape.

Carefully designed to inspire and foster learning, play, reflection and social interaction, the new facilities will soon give students, staff and the growing community the space and amenities they need to thrive individually and collectively.

Inspired by the surrounding area and community, the building’s exteriors and interiors feature warm natural colour palettes and materials that combine to create environments that cultivate curiosity, support learning, encourage connection and enhance wellbeing.

The new learning centre’s four contemporary, flexible classrooms, collaborative learning space and landscaped outdoor areas will support all types of learning experiences.

While the gymnasium, with its full-size basketball court, stage, change rooms, kitchen and foyer, and adjoining drama and music rooms, will soon be a true community hub.

It won’t be long now until staff and students at St Jude's Primary School are enjoying life in their new middle school learning centre.

Designed to be a vibrant, safe and welcoming environment that fosters curiosity, supports engagement, connection and collaboration and promotes wellbeing and faith development, its central breakout space, four general learning spaces and dedicated art and STEM learning environments will support a variety of learning experiences and activities.

But for now, it's particularly exciting to see it all beginning to take shape, especially the contemporary architectural features and forms that ingrain the community’s faith in the building.

With material selections almost complete, we’re applying the finishing touches to the design of our Derrimut warehouse project and finalising the construction documentation for tender.

Its 6,000 sqm flexible and adaptable footprint, loading dock, office space, outdoor areas, kitchen and amenities will allow it to cater to a wide variety of uses and tenants.

While its feature facade, contemporary design and elevated aesthetic add to its appeal and desirability and will differentiate it from other warehouses in the area.

All of which will work to maximise return on investment – the name of the game when it comes to commercial property development.

Here's a sneak peek at the concepts for our latest learning centre project, which we’ve enjoyed working closely and collaboratively with staff and students to develop.

Inspired by the nearby river and bushland, the exterior’s natural materials, textures, shapes, contemporary architectural forms and expansive deck create an inviting, welcoming presence.

Inside, a central gallery-style breakout space connects the individual learning environments, each of which opens directly onto the external deck and adjacent sporting field, creating a seamless transition and connection between indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the centre.

This, together with the flexible and adaptable nature of each space, will support all sorts of learning experiences and activities, while offering spaces for reflection and encouraging connection with self, others and nature

With just the last few finishing touches remaining, it won’t be long until Mentone Girls' Secondary College staff and students are enjoying their new Wellness Centre.

Designed to inspire wellness, self-expression and community connection, the expansive multi-purpose space, sprung floor, sheltered deck, kitchen, meeting and change rooms, showers, toilet facilities and storage spaces will allow it to host all sorts of activities, learning experiences and gatherings.

Its high ceilings and expansive glazing flood the space with natural light and offer a seamless connection to the outdoor deck, which doubles as spectator seating for the adjacent sporting fields.

While the combination of natural materials and bursts of warm colours welcomes visitors and work to create an environment that is stimulating, safe and nurturing.
