A little look at life lately at Gregory Projects!

New projects getting underway, one very special home officially handed over, site meetings, photography, planning and plenty happening behind the scenes.

And in between it all, we’re super grateful to live and work where we do. ⛰️

One of the best parts of being based in the Alpine region is that some days a site visit, drive home or weekend wander comes with views like this.

There’s a lot happening at the moment, but we’re loving the mix of projects coming through and the people we get to work with along the way.

Work, home & mountains, not a bad combination. 👌🏻

What actually goes into pricing a build?

One of the most common questions we get asked is, “How much will it cost?”

Square metre rates can be useful as a very early reference point, but they only tell part of the story.

The real cost of a build is shaped by the design, the site, structure and engineering, the level of finish, selections, consultant requirements, access, and the trades and materials needed to actually deliver it. That’s why good pricing starts with good information and honest conversations.

Our aim isn’t simply to give you a number. It’s to help you understand what sits behind it, so you can make informed decisions about your project.

The Stack House is officially been handed over.

This one has been a really special project for us, made even better by the people behind it. Lisa and Peter were an absolute dream to work with throughout the whole process.

They made the move from the city in search of a quieter pace of life, and now they get to call this beautiful spot in the Alpine region home, with the hills right outside their door.

It’s pretty special seeing everything come together and knowing this house is now ready to be lived in and enjoyed. We’ll be sharing plenty more of Stack House over the coming weeks.

Stack House has always been about more than the building itself.

Our lovely clients are making the move from the city to Wandiligong, creating a home for the next chapter of their lives. And this week, after all the planning, decisions, construction and final checks, it’s almost time for them to move in.

We love taking that idea of “we’d love to live here one day” and helping make it a reality.

Last week we shared a little of what happens between “the build is finished” and handing over the keys.

Today was the next part — Practical Completion Inspection at Stack House.

We’ve already worked through our own internal checks, so PCI is really Lisa and Peter’s chance to go through the home with us properly — room by room, asking questions, testing things and making note of anything they’d like us to look at before handover.

It’s the exciting part where everything starts to come together and the house starts to feel like theirs.

And it means that by handover day, they can move in knowing the final details have been taken care of.

Then they headed across the road for a celebratory drink with a pretty good view of their finished home 🍻🍷😂

"Do I need a butler’s pantry?"

Not necessarily, but for the right household, they can be incredibly practical.

They can give you more storage, somewhere to keep small appliances, extra prep space and a place to hide some of the everyday kitchen mess when you’re entertaining.

The key is making sure it genuinely adds function rather than simply taking floor area away from the rest of the home. Like most design decisions, it comes back to how you actually live.

We're almost there at the Stack House!

From construction site to finished home, this project is now in the final stretch before handover next week.

We spent time over the weekend working through defects and final checks, and the focus now is on the last details, documentation and making sure everything is ready for the client to move into their beautiful new home.

Handover is always an exciting milestone, but there’s a lot that happens behind the scenes before the keys are passed over.
