Coogee Cottage Monarchs

Our monarch season has started!!!!!
Even though we haven’t seen any monarchs in our garden, our plants have been visited by at least one female. We’ve had 4 eggs hatch in the last 48 hrs.

We have collected 57 eggs from our garden this week. We could have collected more, but we are trying to establish an ongoing cycle of all stages of the monarch’s life with no breaks. We should have babies in the next 3 days!

Four females and one male eclosed today! We released them, despite the wind, as they will get great practice building up their wing strength. Right after I finished this video, another monarch flew directly over this four and kept flitting about, as if it was saying, “Join me!” We have so many in our garden now that we rarely don’t see a butterfly flutter by. 💕

We have a very happy garden, with seven more monarchs. It feels so good to be in the backyard & see orange fluttering around all of our flowers. I can’t wait to start egg hunting soon.

We released 10 yesterday and 7 today! We should be getting eggs in 1 or 2 days, so stay tuned!
