Another beautiful up-cycled deck in groovy Hami Hill! Using rare Ulin timber from Indochina. Love working with recycled as it feels so good to reuse and repurpose knowing no new trees need to be felled. 🌳 🙏🏽 Deck/platform will form the floor for a pottery studio in the existing space. Final project of last year. A beautiful repurposed deck in Hamilton Hill. Fixed into existing veranda and sanded the second hand boards which came up like new. Sub frame was coated and protected as it is going to be exposed to the weather and minimal concrete used. The Jarrah went really well with the lovely mid century house. Thanks to Emma, Junie and Buddy for the kindness and partnering on the project.

New front picket fence at Leith’s place in South Freo. A neighbourhood decision to change the colour means it ties in with the house really well. Fence was old and weathered and needed replacing. Lots of detail required to get it looking good. Another positive and enjoyable job. 🪚🔨🏡⭐️

Custom hardwood gates built and installed in Helena Valley. 🚪 🔐 🏡 Did away with old discoloured pine ones. Masonary set some new posts and fitted the newly built gates. Big change from both outside and inside creating more privacy and quality feel to the property. Strong fixings and gate hardware used for longevity. Latch positioning functional for those using it too! 💫

Wide board jarrah decking project and patio done in Coolbellup 🌳🪵 🪚 created 20sqm extra living space for this granny flat and patio is protecting the exterior windows from the weather. Made the decision to run the boards away from the structure. Hardwearing timber coat chosen to protect the deck for the future.

Best benchtops in South Fremantle they said!!!🪚🏡 Old damaged hardwood benches lovingly refurbished and refinished. Cruddy polyurethane sanded back and redone in a hard wax oil which allows the timber to breathe and accentuates the beauty of the wood increasing the overall feeling of quality in the home. 😌Some kitchen cupboards swapped out and a new more functional bin system installed. Thanks Leith for being so great to work with and being a community hero in your area 🦸‍♀️✨

After some research Ive found the history of bathrooms dates back to 3000BC and the Indus Valley Civilisation were they were know for their ritual quality of purifying body and soul. Bath-rooms at this time were very simple spaces with basic plumbing. In the Roman Empire 1800BC the Romans and Greeks were famous for their bath houses as communal meeting places where they could enjoy conversation, ointments, incenses, combs and mirrors. Fascinatingly some of the plumbing was as good as modern plumbing.

Today our bathrooms are indeed still sacred spaces for not only hygiene but refuge, introspection, fun and also family time in busy modern lives.
What has definitely moved on is the amount of options for bathroom style, layouts and fixtures and when renovating.

In this small bathroom we completed in a duplex in Hamilton hill a bath/shower recess has been added so that one can enjoy a bath, large size gloss white tiles were used to make the space feel bigger, a large aqua kit-kat/finger tile feature wall was installed and an organic feel tile used on the floor.
Keys when renovating a bathroom include thoroughly waterproofing, locating taps/mixers in the right spots, using quality plumbing, tiles and grouts and considering lighting and ventilation.
