NOW is the time to check πΏ
Remove any shoots that are growing BELOW the graft as these can take over your tree.
This is easier to see in young trees but the longer you leave it the harder it gets π
What to look for?? ππ
πΏ Identify the graft join - it may have a lump or line and the bark is often slightly different below and above.
πΏ Suckers or rootstock often have different leaves to the main plant. It could be leaf shape, colour or texture.
πΏ Root stock in citrus can often have a lot of spikes. But this is not always the case it is best to identify the graft line and prune below it.
