🌿🪴 The Garden Clubs & Societies Plant Fair is on this weekend! 🪴🌿

If you're looking for a wonderful way to spend your weekend, why not head along to the Garden Clubs & Societies Plant Fair in South Perth? Hosted by the WA Horticultural Council, this annual event brings together some of Western Australia's most passionate gardening clubs and plant societies under one roof. From orchids and roses to succulents, ferns, bromeliads and frangipanis, you'll find a huge range of plants, expert advice and plenty of inspiration for your garden.

If you're looking for a wonderful way to celebrate spring, the Everlasting Kings Park Festival officially begins today at Kings Park and Botanic Garden. 🌸

Running until 4 October, this annual festival celebrates the extraordinary diversity and beauty of Western Australia's wildflowers, with thousands of blooms and more than 3,000 WA plant species on display throughout the Western Australian Botanic Garden. 🌺🌿

🌱 Spring Garden Jobs #2: remove winter weeds before they seed 🌱

As the weather warms up, winter weeds are growing fast and getting ready to set seed. Now is the perfect time to tackle them before they spread throughout your garden and create even more work later on.

Take a few minutes each week to pull, hoe or dig out weeds while the soil is still moist from winter rains. Pay particular attention to weeds growing around seedlings, garden beds and vegetable patches.

💡 Gardening Tip: Don't add seeding weeds to your home compost. Instead, dispose of them in your green waste bin to avoid spreading seeds back into your garden.

Continuing our series on some of Perth's best walks, this month we're heading to East Perth to explore one of the city's newest landmarks, the stunning Boorloo Bridge. This easy riverside walk combines beautiful Swan River views, public art, native landscaping and Perth's impressive city skyline. Starting in East Perth, wander along the waterfront, cross the striking bridge and take in views stretching from Optus Stadium to Elizabeth Quay.
