If you’ve got drippers, pop-ups or sprays - it's important to check for clogs or splits so you're ready to go in spring.

💛 Walking Trail of the Month: Lake Monger 💛

If you’re looking for a beautiful, easy walk, Lake Monger delivers every time. With sweeping water views, loads of birdlife (including stunning black swans 🦢), and plenty of spots to stop and soak it all in, it’s one of the best winter wanders around.

The main loop trail is about 3.5 km, flat and family‑friendly. Keep an eye out for native plants, ducks, and those cheeky long‑neck turtles if you’re lucky.

Bold colours. Iconic shape. Pure WA magic. This native thrives in the sun and brings instant life to any garden 💚

Late winter into early spring (August–September) is one of the best planting windows for the Kangaroo Paw because:

🌱 Soil is moist from winter rains
🌞 Days are warming up, encouraging new growth
🌬️ Heat stress is low, giving roots time to establish
🦘 Spring flowering is boosted if planted now

🥾🌿 Winter Walks in Perth – Kings Park Law Walk & Federation Walkway 🌿🥾

Part two of our regular walk series takes us through one of Perth's most iconic destinations - Kings Park.

📍 Location: Kings Park
🚶 Distance: Approximately 2.5–3km loop (depending on your route)
⏱️ Time: 45–90 minutes
✅ Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Starting at the Lotterywest Federation Walkway, you'll stroll among the treetops while enjoying breathtaking views of the Swan River and Perth skyline. Continue along the Law Walk, winding through beautiful native bushland and discovering some of WA's unique flora along the way.

🌼 August Highlight: Keep an eye out for the first signs of the wildflower season, with many native plants beginning to burst into colour as spring approaches.
