A fortnight on, we're still pretty proud of this one.

Our Managing Director, Jasmine Kadic, was named Indigenous Businesswoman of the Year at the 2026 Supply Nation Supplier Diversity Awards.

Jasmine, a Whadjuk Ballardong woman, co-founded Benang in 2018. Eight years on, the team is more than 80 strong, delivering fabrication, civil, water, power and gas infrastructure across Western Australia.

Accepting the award, Jasmine dedicated it to "the women who have shaped the Indigenous business industry. For the grandmothers who walked the streets and fought to be seen. For the women who continued to show up, even when they felt like nobody was watching."

Congratulations Jasmine, from all of us.

Yesterday we said we had a second announcement coming. Turns out it is even better than a nomination. 👑🎉

Our Managing Director and Co-Founder, Jasmine Kadic , has won the Industry Leader award at the CCF WA Women in Civil Awards.

Presented by the Civil Contractors Federation WA, the award recognises a woman whose leadership has driven excellence and equity across Western Australia's civil construction industry. We cannot think of anyone more deserving.

A proud Whadjuk and Ballardong woman, Jasmine has built Benang into an Aboriginal-owned, self-performing multi-utility contractor while creating meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal people and for women across our industry.

Congratulations, Jasmine. This recognition is thoroughly deserved, and we are incredibly proud of you. 🖤💛❤️

Did you know Benang means **" 𝑻𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒘 "** in Noongar?
🖤💛❤️
That word represents everything we stand for. Building a better tomorrow for our people, our communities and future generations, one project at a time.

Happy NAIDOC Week as we celebrate **50 Years of Deadly**.

A deadly NAIDOC Week at Benang! 🖤💛❤️

Aunty Josie shared what this year's theme, 50 Years of Deadly, is all about, and why we celebrate 50 years of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership. Aunty Sheree then brought everyone together with a delicious meal of kangaroo stew, damper and lemon cupcakes.

Nothing brings a team together like good tucker and good yarns.

Thank you, Aunty Josie and Aunty Sharee, for sharing your knowledge, culture and hospitality. 🦘

🎙️ The story behind Benang.
Our Managing Director Jasmine Kadic and General Manager Damir Kadic recently sat down with The Gold Room Podcast to share how Benang came to life. It's a story of risk. Of remortgaging the family home, selling cars, and going unpaid for years to build something that matters.

Today, Benang is Australia's only Aboriginal self-performing multi-utility contractor, delivering across water, power, gas, mechanical, and mining and resources for clients including ATCO Gas Australia Limited Partnership, Waters Corporation, and Western Power.

In this conversation, Jasmine and Damir cover:
• The meaning behind the name Benang • Building a business across water, power, gas and mining infrastructure • Creating real impact through Indigenous workforce development • Running a business as a married couple, with twins along for the ride • Why purpose matters as much as profit. A raw and honest look at what it takes to build a purpose-driven business in Australia.
