6.00am start and finish at 3pm - 9 day fortnight with RDO every 2nd Friday

The is check includes the following:
Check for leaks and issues in your irrigation system
Check your irrigation controller settings & set optimal run times for your garden
Advice on how to efficiently use your irrigation system

The check does NOTinclude:
Extensive replacement of parts
Fixing complicated issues
Irrigation system redesigns or mapping
Irrigation controller replacement
Garden maintenance

The Waterwise Garden Irrigator may provide you with a quote for further work they can assist you with to help you save water. It is at your discretion whether to proceed with any additional work. They will also complete an irrigation checklist with you to confirm the work that has been carried out and any recommendations made. A member of your household must be home for the duration of the check to discuss your irrigation and confirm that you are happy with the work completed.

The entrance to this apartment complex is becoming well established. The lovely red pop of colour from the 'little ruby' hedge fits in well with the low maintenance succulents and creates the boundry. The top picture was taken not long after the plants were first planted in March 2022.

❄It's officially winter❄
And we all know that as the seasons change, so does our lawn maintenance.

Here are Lawn Doctor's top tips:
⛄ The dreaded winter grass! With the cooler weather you may start to notice winter grass shoots appearing in your lawn 😱 Once the shoots are visible, it is too late to apply a pre-emergent herbicide (like Oxafert). You will need to apply a post-emergent instead. Propyzamide is the most effective chemical for killing winter grasses ☠
⛄ Fertilising!! Because our Perth winters are mild, we can actually prevent our turf from going into dormancy (and therefore keep our green colour 💚) by feeding it a high iron feriliser & keeping the water up to it
⛄ Shade!! With reduced sunlight through winter, it is important to make sure that your turf is able to make the most of the little time the sun is out. Trim any overhanging trees, rake up leaf matter, and move any outdoor furniture away from your turf to give it the best chance to thrive!

ANNUAL WINTER SPRINKLER BAN

between 1st of June to 31st of August

Which parts of Western Australia are included in the sprinkler switch off?
It applies to both schemes and bore water users in Perth, Mandurah and some parts of the South West (including Albany).

How do I turn off my reticulation sprinkler system?
With most controllers, it is a very straightforward step and all you have to do is to turn the dial to the off position

What do I do if I have a bore?
While you still have to switch off and not run your regular watering days, bore owners may want to run their system (briefly) and weekly to avoid having the bore seizing which may lead to costly repairs.

A penalty of $100 may be issued from Water Corporation for non-compliance.

During winter’s cooler months, lawns go dormant and plants don’t require as much water, which makes it the perfect time to switch off and save. Simply press your irrigation controller’s ‘snooze’ or ‘off’ button and you’ll be helping WA save precious water for when we need it most.

The Winter Sprinkler Switch-off is mandatory for all scheme and bore water users in Perth, Mandurah, some parts of the South West and Great Southern from 1 June to 31 August every year.
