☕ 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵

This week, we're catching up with Josh, one of the talented carpenters behind our AVP Projects builds. 🔨🏡

Josh's building journey started early. After leaving school at 15, he began labouring for a local builder before starting his carpentry apprenticeship at 16. Since then, he's built a wealth of experience, including running his own construction company, giving him a unique understanding of what it takes to deliver great projects from start to finish.

A few things we learned over a seriously strong coffee:

🔨 How did you get started in the industry?
I left school at 15 and started labouring for a local builder, with my sights firmly set on a carpentry apprenticeship.

👷 What do you bring to the AVP team?
Carpentry, the best trade of them all! Along with hands-on experience, Josh brings leadership, accountability and a passion for setting the standard on site.

💡 Best lesson learned?
How you do something is how you should do everything.

🏡 What makes AVP different?
The genuine care for both our clients and every project. Josh believes AVP combines an effective business model with a real passion for building exceptional homes.

❤️ Favourite part of seeing a home come to life?
Watching clients' reactions as their vision starts becoming reality.

💪 What motivates you each day?
Heading home knowing the team has had a great day and done a good job.

🤝 What do you love about the AVP team?
It's about getting the job right, not just hitting timeframes. AVP produces quality projects and we're accountable for delivering them properly.

🪵 Favourite material and tool?
Timber is the material of choice, framing is his favourite stage of the build and his impact driver is never far away.

☕ Coffee order?
There's nothing fun about a coffee order, this is a serious question! As long as it's strong and full cream, he's all in.

At AVP Projects, it's our people who make the difference. Josh's dedication to quality craftsmanship and doing things the right way is a big part of what helps us deliver homes our clients love.☕🔨🏡

💛 𝗥 𝗨 𝗢𝗞? 𝗔𝗻𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 💛

Sometimes the most powerful words we can say are: "Are you OK?"

This R U OK? Day, we're supporting the message that checking in with the people around us shouldn't be limited to one day a year.

Life can be challenging, and many people carry struggles we can't always see. A genuine conversation, a listening ear, or a simple message can remind someone that they are valued, supported, and not alone.

Let's make meaningful connections a habit. Today, tomorrow, and any day.

“From the very beginning, we were looking for a builder who would understand what we wanted to achieve, deliver within a reasonable timeframe and budget, and genuinely care about the outcome. After meeting Andy, the decision was easy. He was personable, easy to talk to, local, and gave us confidence that our project was in good hands.

Working with AVP Projects was brilliant. Andy was flexible when needed, always providing honest advice and guiding us towards the best outcome. Throughout the build, he understood our vision completely and was upfront with us whenever changes were needed. His professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail made the whole process smooth and stress-free.

The quality of the trades involved was also outstanding. Everyone was respectful, worked efficiently, and delivered on time, which made a big difference to our overall experience.

Now that the project is complete, we absolutely love the result. While it was a relatively small extension, it has had a huge impact on how we live. We now have a larger living space, a much more functional kitchen and laundry, and we've even transformed our old toy area into a fantastic bar space that we use all the time. We especially love the style of the rear landing, the under-bench features, the funky tiles, and the custom cabinetry.

Friends and family are always commenting on how great the space looks, praising its clean lines, functionality, and unique design features. Most importantly, the extension has given us confidence that we'll be able to enjoy living in our home comfortably for many years to come.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Andy and the team at AVP Projects to anyone considering a renovation or extension. If you're looking for a builder who listens, communicates honestly, and delivers an exceptional result, AVP Projects is an easy choice.”

🏡 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹 ✨

As families grow, their homes need to evolve with them.

This recently completed South Perth project focused on extending the rear of the existing home to create more space, better functionality and a layout designed for the next chapter of family life.

The centrepiece of the transformation is the stunning new open-plan kitchen and living area, providing a spacious hub where the family can come together while still having room to spread out. Opening directly onto the new rear verandah, the connection between indoors and out creates the perfect setting for both everyday living and entertaining.

One of our favourite additions has to be the hidden bar, cleverly integrated into the living area. Hidden away when not in use and ready to be revealed when entertaining, it's the perfect combination of practicality and style. Safe to say we'd love one in our own home too! 🍸😉

To further enhance the space, we installed a Velux skylight, flooding the kitchen and living area with beautiful natural light throughout the day. The project also included a new laundry, adding valuable functionality to this growing family home.

The result is a home that feels brighter, larger and better connected, creating the space this family needs today while providing flexibility for the years ahead.

✨ Rear extension for expanded family living
✨ Spacious open-plan kitchen and living area
✨ New rear verandah with stunning feature tiles
✨ Hidden bar with concealed joinery
✨ Velux skylight for additional natural light
✨ New laundry

A beautiful transformation we're proud to reveal.

☕ 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝘆

This month, we're sitting down with AVP Projects Director, Andy, to learn a little more about the person behind the builds.

Andy began his career as an apprentice carpenter at just 16 years old and while he wears many hats these days, his passion for quality craftsmanship and creating homes that genuinely improve the way families live remains at the heart of everything he does.

A few things we learned over a (very large) flat white:

🔨 First job in the industry?
Apprentice carpenter straight out of school.

🎯 Best career advice?
Set your goal first thing in the morning and stay focused on the outcome.

🏡 What makes AVP different?
We strive to build high-performing homes that are truly liveable, not just homes that look good on Instagram.

❤️ Favourite part of the job?
Seeing how a completed home changes the way a family lives and uses their space.

👷 Favourite tool?
An Estwing hammer. A true site essential.

🤝 What does he love about the AVP team?
We're a close-knit group, all pushing towards the best outcome for every project.

☕ Coffee order?
Large flat white. The bigger, the better.

At AVP, building homes is about more than construction. It's about creating spaces where families can thrive and Andy is proud to lead a team that shares that vision. ☕🏡🔨

🏡 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹 ✨

A project like this is exactly why thoughtful design matters. From a humble 1940s character home to a stunning family sanctuary, this Kensington transformation proves you really can honour the past while creating a home ready for the future.

What started as a compact 2x1 home is now a spacious, beautifully connected family home designed to meet the needs of a busy family.

This project involved a substantial extension and complete remodel of the existing 1940s residence, carefully preserving the home's original character while introducing a contemporary edge throughout the new addition. The result is a seamless transition between old and new, with every space telling the same design story.

Now featuring:

✨ Grand hallway entrance
✨ Open-plan kitchen, living and dining area
✨ Large mezzanine overlooking the living spaces with a striking spiral staircase
✨ Mudroom and laundry (you may remember the sneak peek we shared back in December 😉)
✨ Master bedroom with ensuite and walk-in robe
✨ Three children's bedrooms
✨ Spacious home office
✨ Formal parents' lounge
✨ Family bathroom and separate WC
✨ Dedicated playroom opening onto a private deck
✨ Pool house with kitchenette and bathroom
✨ Rear alfresco entertaining area
✨ Swimming pool and landscaped garden
✨ Oversized garage with workshop, first-floor storage and space for 3 vehicles
